Best thing about the cover is no mention of HDR

Even with UHD Blu-ray you're getting an approximation of the master cinema file. HDR10 & 12 bit Dolby Vision for the home are the only ways of getting closer to the pro versions... if these tools are utilized correctly.

From everything I've heard, DV is the most robust and stringent format of the two.

I would so love to see you prove that

Not sure if you read the official press release posted, but it's definitely got HDR grading. I'm sure you're as thrilled as me to find this out

IMO, that's only a good thing if it means they didn't add HDR to the disc inside. If they did, I want to know about it on the front of the box.

I personally think the new movie looks like dogsh-t and expect the worst, but that's not why Sony's releasing the first 2 movies on UHD. It's just to cash in on the new flick. They'd be crazy to not do that. Same reason BTW that Paramount's rumored first 2 UHD titles will be Abrams' Star Trek movies.

I do not believe this is at all correct.

And almost certainly the same reason we're getting the INDEPENDENCE DAY disk in advance of the sequel. For that reason, I say bring on more pointless remakes and lousy sequels!

Heh, I agree. Now You See Me is another one. There are actually a bunch of tie-in opportunities this year:

Inferno(The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons)
X-Men: Apocalypse(every X-Men movie prior to Days of Future Past)
Ice Age: Collision Course(Ice Age 1-4)
Underworld: Next Generation(Underworld 1-4)
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them(the Harry Potter series)

They included all that stuff on the cover, but couldn't include all four Ghostbusters?

Sony: Always trying to keep the bla... um, never mind!

Winston was always my favorite Ghostbuster as a child.

Winston is always the afterthought. A shame too because he represents the everyman in the movie and is a great character.

Hehehe. Its
A: black crush
B: New HDR cut with revisions
C: Anticipating the next US president and new rules for politically correct.

While the lack of Ernie in the main publicity stuff is just a by-product of his supporting role in the first film (I never see anyone complain that Rick Moranis isn't on the GB1 cover), it's unfortunate that he's covered up by the no-ghost logo in the photo at the bottom left which is from the deleted Fort Detmerring sequence.

Given that even the new token "black woman" is getting such poor treatment in this upcoming abortion called a reboot, it's not surprising Sony dropped Winston from the packaging... even though he was the "normal" every-man character who saw sh-t that would turn you white, and not a caricature in the original film.
