Yeah i'am hoping for the possessed Ray, Eugene Levy scene and the full version of the scenes that ended up in the montage like the Central park ghost and the GB receiving the key to the city.

Man the only thing that would be the cherry on top is if it was possible to remaster the real ghostbusters cartoon and maybe extreme ghostbusters as well.

I wonder if one of the new deleted scenes for Ghostbusters II will be the infamous Slimer ending.

From the info we currently have, it seems these are the only things from the 35th anniversary steelbook that aren't listed as part of this new set:

Ghostbusters
• “Tricks and Trivia” Text Commentary
• Alternate TV Version Takes (which doesn't really matter since we're getting the full TV broadcast version of the film with the upcoming set)

Ghostbusters II
• Photo Galleries (although the new set lists a "Photo Galleries" under the special features for the first film, so it may include a gallery for part II, as well)

And this:
• "The Real Ghostbusters - Pitch Concept Pilot" - A Fan Restoration by Robert Barbieri

*The new set doesn't list which specific trailers are included for each film, but I assume they will be the same

Otherwise, this upcoming set contains everything in the 35th plus a lot more.

Brilliant book for the time. Held onto my copy after being tempted to sell a number of times over the years. Still have the original letter sent out with the book for review in 1985.

Will this likely be the same robust outer box that came with the Karate Kid set?

Maybe I'm just getting old. I haven't seen Afterlife yet, so my interest is primary in the first two films which I know by heart. Most of the extras are of the 'one and done' variety, and I've got PDF versions of almost every published special out there, including the Making of Ghostbusters one by Don Shay. (So the tiny version included here just isn't really doing it for me.)

Even at DD $90 price, there's just so many other places to put my money than towards re-buying two beloved classic comedies for the 6th time. Or is is 7th? Jeez.

Call me underwhelmed. Or perhaps out of gas.
the book is not the tiny version, it's a reprint of the original one

The promo picture sure makes it look like the book is about the same size as the blu-ray disc cases.

I quote from the site: "and includes a full 220-page reprint of the rare 1985 “Making Ghostbusters” book!"
the promo picture are just promo, they don't reflect the actual size. some of the promo pictures are wrong too, in Italy the discs have different color (1 yellow and 3 green) than the ones on the other country

it seems strange to me that this few extras won't be included too. this box set have a huge amount of extra and they leave this 4 out? strange

The thing about that is that it would be very expensive and time-consuming for something that has failed to cross the finish line twice on home video. Time Life was releasing the volumes from their box set individually and they never finished the series, ostensibly due to poor sales, and the recent Sony releases also fizzled out before the series was completed.

Probably the best you’ll ever see is an SD-on-DVD release. You can get one from Germany but hopefully US companies will become less-reluctant to do SD-on-DVD with DiscoTek doing them and hopefully Sony is willing to license it.

The page count maybe correct but that does not necessarily guarantee a reprint as a full size book.

I recall getting an Aliens themed LootCrate that had a hardback reprint of the original Aliens sequel comic book but it was a smaller size.

Anyhow I certainly do hope it is a full sized book and would better justify the price but it maybe best to keep lowered expectations on that front until that point is clarified.
