I don't think so. deepdiscount and blowit don't remove stuff when sold out. What they sometimes do with Universal stuff, is removing listings again for whatever reason, just to bring it back later - same link and all. Happened only lately with "Last Night in Soho" as the most recent example.

Why they are doing this: ?

Placed my JOLLY order anyway.

I'd be wary of Wowhd, their shipping partner hands parcels over to Hermes in the UK and if you know anything about Hermes you'll be lucky to get it undamaged.. If at all

I cannot add it to my cart. It comes up if you search for it but then the combo Blu-ray comes up instead for $36. That's why I assumed it's no longer available but perhaps it's a broken link.

Same with DD now. It’s a lottery for sure and I’ve had just as many box sets damaged when they used to use Royal Mail too. My heart is always in my mouth when waiting for anything bigger than a standard release from overseas.

DD & Co ship bigger items like this in a cardboard box and may even use a courier rather than snail mail (like they did with the two Columbia Collection sets I've ordered from them) so it'll be quicker than usual. Whether it gets battered to **** or just ends up with a couple of dings is pure luck, but I've been pretty lucky so far.

Yes, them redirecting to something similar (the according DVD release for example) often happens when they temporarily remove something - I was/am getting the same behaviour as you describe. But I'm sure it's not sold out yet is my main point. (Not only because I could still order it (item 043396566873), because I already had it in my basket.)

I’m in the U.S. so hopefully less hands passing it along will result in less of a chance for damage but it really just boils down to how they handle it in shipping. DeepDiscount doesn’t have a lot of control over worthless USPS/UPS/FedEx employees. I’m just hoping to get them as they release but think I shouldn’t checked expedited shipping instead of standard. That tempting free shipping gets me every time.

Target sold out of their preorders and you can't order it there at the moment. DDD may have sold through its preorder allotment also.

This isn't a limited edition though, right? May just be a case of few copies being pressed/available due to supply chain etc.

It lights up and most likely the collection case is cardboard, ditto for the disc cases.

Ouch. Cardboard disc cases? That's definitely a strike against. Hubs? Sleeves? These renders aren't clarifying much here.

Hopefully the paper for what is likely a blu-ray case sized book is decent quality and not paper mâché.

Thing is, 'sold out' normally looks like this at DD first instead: https://www.deepdiscount.com/underwo...n/043396574632

And then gets removed completely only later and not out of nowhere. Which is why I don't think it's sold out, but just got removed for now for whatever reason.

After seeing the awesome amount of new features for this, I’m definitely getting. Plus that book looks awesome too! I can’t check right now but does the bonus disc from the SteelBook a few years ago have anything that DIDN’T get ported to this new set?

We still don’t know what the actual movie cases are though? I don’t mind cardboard as long it’s the kind where you lift the disc out instead of slide it out.

Probably much like the Resident Evil and Underworld 4K sets. The discs are on hubs, not sleeves.

If you have Dolby Vision yes.

If you don't it'll probably look the same, plus/minus better/worse compression.

It'll still be pretty grainy however, that's how it was shot.

I feel like it will be a much larger version of the CEOTTK 40th Anniversary box set released a few years ago that lit up and had sounds. It is a sturdy cardboard but doesn't feel cheap. I would be shocked if it ended up being plastic.

Could be a composite material though, with some surface portions being cardboard, but using some other type of plastic/resin in order for the case to open and close like that, I don't think 100% cardboard would hold up very well. Shouldn't be cost prohibitive either, since Many of us here have acquired/collected special edition cases for half the SRP of this set that used complex molds and could only be formed and functional using materials that weren't cardboard so I'm really hoping this gets better treatment than just a cardboard box.

It might but not completely grain is part of film and some film stock is grainy then others and if you do too much grain reduction you end up with predator ultimate edition and waxy looking arnold.
