It lights up and most likely the collection case is cardboard, ditto for the disc cases.

So is it confirmed that US and EU release will have different covers? I like those with the 3 different logos, but I don't like the art of the eu ones. I guess I have to deal with it since I buy it on Amazon italy

There hasn’t been any official announcement of the set outside North America so it’s impossible to confirm or deny they will have different covers.

It’s long OOP so the only place you will find it is likely eBay, did a quick search and there are three available here in the U.K.

In this case they should have use the same US promo images, don't they?

I don't see any UK products on my eBay. I'll try to go on ebay UK directly. Thanks

You asked if it had been confirmed and the answer is no, yes the promo artwork is different in the Euro listings but it’s still just just promo artwork, every chance the US could change to match it, we just don’t know yet.

The first UHD Sony produced of GB1 was back when their HDR grading was really contrasty and blown out on a few titles. Some of those early discs need to be "tamed" in a way you don't have to with other studios. The Dolby Vision grading here should be more "balanced".

I think it'll be virtually the same grade, but with the DV dynamic metadata the highlights won't look so nuked.

Yeah thats a better way of what I was attempting to say lol. I wonder if they'll end up doing another round of CE3K at some point plus STARSHIP TROOPERS, that was another one that was really "hot".

I'd rebuy both of those in a heartbeat, especially Troopers as it needs a new encode as badly as it needs dat Dobly sauce.

And while they were at it, it’d be great if they gave CE3K back its original subtitles. Player-generated subs drive me absolutely bonkers on that film.

I think we'd get them, too. They put the OG subs on the UHD of 2012, of all movies, so I think it's another one of their little 'listen to what the fans want' things going forward. Would love a reissue of FFC's Dracula for the same reasons.

All credit to Sony for going thru their back catalogue and correcting their mistakes with new editions.

See Ghostbusters and The Karate Kid, with Leon coming soon.

Hopefully A Few Good Men and Groundhog Day will be next. Yes, I'll double dip for original stereo tracks.

Other Studios could learn alot from Sonys 4K release. I wish WB would go back into there Vaults for the Goonies and Gremlins and give us new retrospective documentaries and deleted scenes and raw dallies in HD.

Not sure Leon counts as it's just the Japan release, isn't it?

I assume you’re ONLY talking about the OG audio re: Groundhog Day, because that UHD is absolutely, unassailably gorgeous.

CE3K 4k PQ blows but STARSHIP TROOPERS looks great on 4k.

Many here think GHOSTBUSTERS 4k looks great as is and was made fun of for saying it doesn't.

I'm sure a new edition of CE3K would have DV and a Atmos mix, since Spielberg is a convert to the new formats.

Aside from compression, Starship Troopers seems fine to me, the whole construction of the movie is exaggerated so a "hot" HDR grade seems appropriate.
