I’m not aware of any release where the special features disc/s are 4k UHD, although it’s certainly possible that there are some out there. I suspect it has to do with production costs.

When you also consider that there are no (very few?) special features mastered in 4K, it really would be a waste of money to use a UHD disk for BD or lower quality special features.

Not for nothing, but SD on BD should have been much better received.
All those TV shows on DVDs... Could have really saved on shelf space in addition to giving episodes room to breathe.

Look at lord of the rings. DVDs, again! for the bonus features.
They could drastically refuse the amount of disks used!

You do make a good point but that comes down to how much more dominant and cost effective a DVD is over a BD. You can sell more units of a cheap DVD set than a more expensive BD set.

The recent years, every single retailer around me has been loading more and more DVDs than any other physical format. Even on sales, all the cardboard shippers have been predominantly DVD.

Studios are greedy.
There's no reason a 4k needs to be $30/$40/$50/$60/$70 outside of super deluxe special limited editions

Same goes for Blu-ray

If they are not making any money of this continually shrinking niche market, they will cease to sell any physical. As fewer people buy these, the prices will have to go higher in order to exist...especially with high inflationary factors right now. It sucks, but...basic supply and demand.

So the only difference with the first two movies is they will be in Dolby Vision instead of HDR10? No further remastering?

I'm not sure either but there are some releases where a special feature is only on the 4K disk.

The recent 'No Time To Die' for example. The 'Being Bond' featurette(what sounded like the best of the special features) is only on the 4K disk. Not on the Blu Ray.The original Karate Kid 4K disk from 2019 had the,'Remembering The Karate Kid with Ralph Macchio, Billy Zabka & Martin Kove' featureete included on the 4K disk but not the Blu Ray with it.

That's why I wanted to double check that the special features disks were Blu Ray.If they were 4K,then i would of passed on this release and just gotten the standard Ghostbusters Afterlife Blu Ray release.

Did anyone outside of the U.S manage to get a pre-order in? It tells me that it can't send out to my location.

I got an order in early on for shipping to Sweden and I see it is still available to order to my location. Looks like they are currently blocking UK deliveries based on your post.

Yeah, those discs are not all that uncommon, but I’m more so referring to an extra disc of just special features. I’m not aware of any release like that.

Nope, and considering they’re already gorgeous as-is, just the addition of DV suits me just fine.

Agreed. The addition of Dolby Vision will be the icing on the cake to an already excellent 4K presentation.

I just went ahead and did this and it went through fine. Thank you so much! Works out at about £75 which is a great price, though I don't know how much Stackry will charge to send it out to me. I bet it will still be cheaper than the £150 Amazon UK are charging for the British box set, that doesn't even have confirmed specs yet.

I just ordered through Best Buy as well. I had a whole bunch of Rewards Certificates expiring January 30, so I decided to pull the trigger now just in case BB stops taking preorders. Hope the Ghost Trap packaging doesn't turn out to be a piece of crap that gets wrecked in shipping. And I hope it actually ships!
