So will this giftset thingy be the only way to get the newly remastered discs?

A few years ago, a fraudulent transaction occurred on my ebay account while I was at work and the only reason I even knew about it is because my ebay app notified me the item had shipped. there was no record of it in my purchase history and it was being delivered to my address for some reason. Had I not seen the ebay app alert, I wouldn't have known until I logged in to my bank account to pay bills. It was some super expensive microphone which is something I don't really know anything about and I had never even seen one like this before. I contacted the seller and had him halt the delivery so that it did not come to my address in case someone was waiting for it there. It ended up draining my entire checking account and dipped into my savings because of the overdraft protection. I wasn't nearly in as stable a financial situation at the time as I am now so I had to borrow money from a friend for a week just to be able to pay bills and eat.

I did end up getting my money back but it was a drawn out process and it was MUCH, MUCH easier and faster to deal with when it happened to my credit card several months ago.
As someone who works in the banking industry, this is a common problem. People use their debit cards online, then come in to file a dispute because their debit card was hacked and drained their entire account. Sure, more than likely you’ll get it back, but as you explained, it can take a few days sometimes. NEVER EVER EVER use your debit card online. Use a credit card. Even if you have bad credit, there’s a card out there that you can get approved for. Just make sure it doesn’t charge a yearly fee. You’ll more than likely get hacked at some point, but it won’t disrupt your financial life nearly as bad because it won’t be your direct funds being affected.

When it comes to this years tvs The one’s I wish I could get is either the tcl with the new truecut motion or the Sony qd oled. the qd oled is one I like the most it oled with led brightness the only issue making it hard for me to get it is it’s going to be extremely expensive and that makes me really sad. because it gets rid of the three issues with oled brightness colors not being accurate and burn in.

Same here. I wish the box was more like the Karate Kid set, but glossy slips for the cases. I ordered this set, but it looks like a gimmick box to hold things.

[Show spoiler]Just a google image search. It's nowhere near indictive of the quality of the upcoming transfer. It was a joke, showing you the shape of the disc. And now it's ruined because I had to explain it.

For the life of me, I’ll never understand why people leave “overdraft protection” on. To me, it’s a total scam so the bank can cover charges you don’t have the money to make, and charge you fees for the privilege. The first thing I do with new accounts is turn that off. If I don’t have the money to cover a transaction, I don’t want it to go through. THAT is true overdraft protection, because you can’t overdraft.

I finally watched this last night after like 20 years! Was the most grainy film I have. It looked amazing somehow. Brought back a lot of feels for sure.

For 9.99 huge score. I'm sure the Dolby Vision will look a bit better but have no complaints at all on this and won't be getting any sort of collectors because new Ghostbusters is just cheese to me and I'm tired of reboots.

I'm sure for some it's a reassurance that an important charge will go through and not get denied, like a limited edition that might run the risk of selling out at any time, so if you don't have the funds to cover it due to another charge going through first and dipping your account below 0 and it's rejected, you'll lose your order and not get another chance. With overdraft, the bank will let it go through so you don't lose the order, but you'll pay for it through extra overdraft fees. For some that may be worth it if it doesn't happen that often.

Some may also not understand how it works.

Also, it was standard practice many years ago that banks would always process the largest charges first each night, then the smaller ones, high to low, hoping the first one would overdraw your account so that each other smaller charge processed afterwards would each hit another overdraft charge. It was a scummy practice that affected many people for a long time and I remember many years ago it was finally getting some attention and most banks dropped the practice, and now process the charges low to high, maximizing the chance that most of the daily charges would go through without hitting an overdraft fee, so that if a big one overdraws you, it's the last one processed and you only get hit with one fee.

I had overdraft enabled for years long ago and got hit by it quite a bit back when my old checking account hovered way too low to 0 normally. I finally got tired of the extra surprise fees and once I learned how it worked I cancelled it and never looked back.

If you’re that close to literally no money in your account, you should probably be prioritizing things other than movies. ::awaits being attacked - lol::

I knew it was coming. I spent a very long time working way too hard for too many hours, often alone, skipping lunches, and barely making enough for bills. It gets to you. And in those days I was getting into DVD. Actually I was on board from the early days when even rental stores hadn't heard of DVD. I couldn't afford a gigantic library, but I did treat myself to a disc now and then, especially if it was a personal favorite. So because my checking account hovered around 0, I'm not allowed to get any enjoyment in life?

That's how it was with most of my co-workers. Nobody had tons of disposable cash. None of us made enough. But that didn't mean we never went to a theatre once in a while or got together for drinks and a dinner, or treated ourselves to something we like.

All work and no play makes Jack...

Also, many people keep their checking account purposefully low, and deposit money into it as needed, with a buffer. That doesn't mean they're poor and starving, or should be judged for their checking account hovering low.

Who's judging? I was merely offering advice. Trust me, I get not having money. You think DVD's were pricy? Try collecting laserdiscs on an hourly wage from Blockbuster Video.
