Will these studios never learn? They're wasting their time with gimmicky reissues that feature nothing new aside from some horrendous new art on a different colored case. Someone's going to buy this because it's in a red case? lol. What we need for this film is an exhaustive, definitive release in a collector-grade box with the original art - not this. Imagine what Plain Archive or Novamedia could do with this!

With something like this think of it more along the lines of a 2nd printing, rather than an actual new release. Did the previous release have a UV code? It's slightly unusual for them to change the artwork - but if it's just the same release with UV code it's no big deal - considering this is likely to go instantly to the bargain rack.

Then again Fox is also triple dipping on Spaceballs with a black case. That makes two of these type releases - a new trend? While it's stupid, using colored cases is at least more attractive then the asinine "faceplates" they did in the past - and probably better than slipcovers too. I would actually like some of these custom colored cases if they are not eco-cases. If I can get them for $4-$5 I will buy several and gut them for the case.

With the different case, new artwork, and release date, its fairly obvious that this is meant to capitalize on "Genisys". The studios always repackage older films to be in stores when a new a movie in the franchise is due in theaters soon.

My question would be, why do some of you get so torqued up over this? Its a cross-media/branding thing, meant to appeal to the customers that haven't already bought the existing films/books/whatever. New artwork, holofoil, movie cash, shiny red case... its just marketing; whatever it takes to get the consumer to go "Ooh, Terminator! Don't have that one yet." Anything, literally anything, to get the customer to pick the item up. (And I do understand the collector mentality; I own about a dozen copies of T2 in various formats. But the big bad evil companies didn't make me buy them.)
