What better way to celebrate the club’s 125th Anniversary than the execution of a perfect pass leading to a world class strike

P.S.
I'm now just catching up on last weekend’s matches . Been busy.

P.J. is producing petabytes of data every month while shooting The Hobbit. If this becomes a trend in the future, I’m sure that all but a tiny handful of post facilities will be shivering in fear at the prospect of additional higher frame rate productions in 3D, given the storage and movement of data issues involved.

Anyway, did you happen to see/review any of the ‘Best Feature’ noms for the upcoming Spirit Awards?

Yup, it is. At least according to Peter Jackson who told me so.

No, really. PJ said it was so. So, take that for what it's worth.

I attended an industry Holiday reception last evening and was alerted by a colleague to a series of Vimeo clips from a panel with editors. I thought some folks (even if you don’t care to pursue editing as a profession) would find this interesting, just to view how editors think about things….the heavy hitter on the panel being Mark Goldblatt (did Rise of the Planet of the Apes, for one) -

This is the first of a series of 4 clips….

If the trailer's ready (and you've seen it, so that'd be an affirmative), I'd actually be a little shocked if they didn't put it on Tintin.

Great strike from Van Persie. Penton Man, if you want to see another great strike check out Sunderland's equalizer against Blackburn. I was at the match and the ground nearly took off with both our goals.

b.t.w., I quickly perused the Bad Boys II thread in the Movies – North America forum. To set the record straight, BB II was never announced by the studio, despite all the speculation starting on page 1 and continuing onwards from there over the intervening months. Secondly, there is no currently scheduled release date for BB 2 on Blu-ray in the US.

I notice that thread has become rather ‘sporty’ (although it pales in comparison to the ‘debate’ on the Fright Night thread ) thusly, it may be time to call in the Mentalist to join in the fun (watch to where he gets involved with ‘social media’)…

Sorry, been busy the last couple of days! Yes, the trailer looks very good! I especially like
[Show spoiler]the young Tommy Lee Jones at the very end!

Well hopefully we'll hear something about BB2. Sony does a great job on their catalog titles and I would like to think this "potential" release would be no different!
Mentalist...great stuff!

I'll be clearer. I saw the trailer at BNAT, which was proceeded by a video message from Peter Jackson that stated that the trailer is going to play before Tin Tin.

Dig?

Sharkshark, wake up!

Also, (since I suspect some folks would be interested), do you know if anyone knowledgeable at BNAT (like for instance, the filmmaker thru video message or the theater owner) stated unequivocally whether or not the Hobbit trailer was exhibited at 48fps?

Your suspicion is correct, Penton; that's definitely something I'd like to know.

Default Another Sony Annoyance

Colombiana - Unrated cut only.

No option to see the theatrical cut.

With Stripes getting shoddy treatment (the DVD version has both the theatrical and extended) what is going on over at Sony?

Meanwhile Paramount, who for years offered only one version, is now presenting both versions of films on disc.

We all can't live off fat SONY cash, as much as I'd love to get a job from you...

If you followed me on twitter (cough...) you'd have seen that I asked Tim League specifically if he had the setup for 48fps. He's got the Sony 4K projectors, but thought he'd need software update to get true 48fps - ergo, from the info I got from theatre owner, we saw a 24fps file (that =may= have been the issue of corruption we saw when they first tried to play the trailer, resulting in the second one being downloaded for playback)

Now, this conversation took place at about 4am after the 8th or 9th film, so things might have been dodgy, but that's what I got out of him... And, yeah, thinking of this place at the time. Sad, but true.
