No one mention Ten Commandments yet? Gorgeous disc.
The Robe was also done at 4K, though I think it looks like poo. Easy Rider and Jason and the Argonauts were restored at 4K by Sony. I think Monty Python and the Holy Grail was as well. Minority Report, Saving Private Ryan, and the remastered Gladiator are all confirmed 4K transfers as well. Apocalypse Now was scanned in 4K, though not from the camera negative. According to Robert Harris, this is also true for the original Fright Night. Last edited by 42041; 04-11-2013 at 01:31 AM. |

I'm not sure I'd take words in one review as gospel, I'd trust something official from the studio much more. |

There's definitely a difference between Raiders of the lost Ark, Temple of doom and the last Crusade. If that was because of the 4k or just what they put into Raiders, I don't know.

It kind of ticks me off that the guy who reviewed The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo gave it a 4.5 rating because of the very slight banding during the main titles. They are all computer generated, so what did he expect?
And is it really 4k? I know that and The Social Network were shot in 5K, but I thought they were mastered in 2K for the Blu-ray? |
