That's where Top Gun Maverick slots in. It's obviously unapologetically nostalgic, and people wanted it. I don't see what's wrong with that, or film that's just entertainment for the sake of entertainment. So I say hell yeah! Let's fly some jets, see Tom Cruise smile, and bring on the homoerotic beach volleyball.

I never saw that video before. And MTV was a staple at our house. You're right. Most of that video focuses on the dudes in their short shorts. And it doesn't help that Kenny Loggins has that look about him.

Apropos of practically nothing (other than I find it kind of funny), in the new featurette I can be spotted wearing a Yes shirt that one of the dolly grips had dared me to sport on our last day aboard the Theodore Roosevelt.

Tom thought it was hilarious mostly because the young Navy crew had no idea there was ever a band with that name.

Interesting. QT is one of the few prolific directors TC hasn't worked with. Would love to see them pair up somehow for QT's "final" film.

Yeah, both trailers played in 1.9 when I saw them. I think the second trailer had a “Filmed with IMAX cameras” tag as well
