Downloaded this and watched a few weeks back. Excellent movie for how shitty it was. I will be purchasing on Blu!

although the same could be sent of every movie, I think Sunshine benefits more than most from the big screen because you get a sense of the vastness of space and how significant the mission is (plus, there are a lot of sun shots where you're just like 'whoa'). Plus, the intense special effects are more accuretely portrayed because in some scenes the whole screen is on fire.

Sunshine is one of the few movies I've seen this year that warrants a really big screen. So if you have a projector, aim it at the widest wall you got and crank up the sound, if and when the movie is on BD.

I saw this in the theater (one of those DLPs) yesterday and it stunningly amazing. I can't wait to get this one home!

I hope they change that silly box cover though.

They wanted to emphasize the large Asian cast more than likely

its out on DVD in the next couple of weeks but i havnt heard anything in regards to the BR release....anyone have any update? links?

What country? Because it came out in the theater 2 weeks ago in the US.

It's a shame that Fox handled the release of this movie badly in the states as it's one of the better movies so far this year. I'll be getting the Japanese blu-ray in Sept. if Fox won't make a US announcement soon.

sunshine is coming out on blu ray in japan if im not mistaken and japan and america share the same region code so if your in the US you can import it in but it might be bit $$$$$$$$

It's nice to hear all the good comments about Sunshine. I was looking forward to it based on the positive buzz on blu-ray.com. But then it was released in the US with less than stellar reviews and so I skipped it. I'll at least rent it on Blu-ray before shelling out the bucks for this film.

The problem is that it's too "sci-fi/horror" for most art houses, and too art housy for most multiplexes. The marketing people didn't have a clue what to do with it

Sunshine BD was initially listed in few Japanese web-sites but was later removed. So we all are in the same boat.

I was at the Regal Cinemas Atlantic Station in Atlanta this weekend to go see Superbad (very funny), and they had a poster for Sunshine and it said "Coming Soon" underneath the poster. Now, I've already seen this in Atlanta at another theater, so hopefully this will be a BD movie, but it's "theatrical run," however small it may be, may not be over, and therefore maybe Fox is waiting for that to announce it, along w/ that great slew of titles (still want Man on Fire). Just thought that thing about the Poster was interesting.

THey frequently advertise movies in theaters that never actually hit that theater

Fox only announced 21 titles, so I'd wager it's safe to say that Sunshine is one of the remaining

God I hope you are right about this. I want Sunshine over all of the fox titles cept Die Hard series, This movie was sooo beautiful.

I don't understand how this could pass as 'artsy'. This movie was almost exactly(not a bad thing, it was a good movie) like Event Horizon. Another movie that should be on BD.

I have gone to great lengths to get this movie listed on a US website. Speaking directly with the owner of the website I was informed it might be due to be cancelled by the distributor. If you pre-order by CC your credit card will not be charged until the item has been despatched.

BR's cost a fortune in Japan and the site owner has gone to great lengths to make it as cheap as possible at $46.
