This release on Blu-ray is going to be amazing. Who else is excited? Do you think this will outsell Knocked Up and maybe even Transformers?

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the extras which will be included with the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'Superbad', due on store shelves December 4th. Sony has confirmed that this will be a two disc release, which gives us the sneaking suspicion that all the extras will be in stunning 1080p high definition. Also, the Blu-ray will feature the "unrated" cut of the film which was too raunchy for theatrical release.

And exclusive to the Blu-ray release will be the "Superbad Supermeter" which will keep tally of all the lewd and crude lingo in the film.

I can't wait for this release, I didn't see it in the theaters but the redband trailer had me busting up laughing.

Plus a lot of those extras actually interest me.

what? SuperBad is like the best comedy movie I have seen since White Castle! You are doing yourself a big disservice by not seeing it. Matter of fact, with all the BluRay added extras such as the Superbad music, Vag-tastic Voyage, extended PIP extras...just go out and buy it as soon as it hits shelves.

Just for make this sure:

The Superbad Special release comprised Movie + extras
and it will give another Blu-ray Disc with only the movie itself right ?

Seriously, never heard of it. I don't recall even seeing trailers before it was released in the theaters.

It still in Theater. It's one of the most succesful comedy this year..

In the USA Sept 23 the film has grossed : $116,181,146 (USA)
And just came out in Europe 2 week ago

It costed 20M to make. I saw at least 4 times the Theatrical Trailer in a Cinema

Its rated 8.2 by Imdb User
It got a 87% on Rotten Tomatoes... that's an achievement for a Teen Comedy..

Yes, I believe the movie will have it's own disc for the unrated version and a seperate disc for the extras, which I imagine will be plentiful. I wonder if they will do what Disney has done with the Pirates movies, and have the movie on a BD-50 and the extras on a BD-25.

Comedies generally sell poorly on HD. then again, the movie was well received.

I would not expect this to do good. It is a teen movie and that is not the key demographic in this war. Maybe we need to start a poll to see where the demographics on this site are at.

Knocked up is a chick flick.
Superbad is an all out guy flick and will sell tons of copies to the many PS3 owners as well as any BD owner who likes a great sick comedy.

This is not a renter, its a definite buy from someone who has teenage kids.
