I've been waiting for the PCM version but I don't think they're going to release it. I think I'm just going to go and buy the ones available now. This movie os going to looks great I imagine.

But for BD, it's not enough that a movie look good enough. BV understands that, Sony understands that, Fox I wonder sometimes, but Warner keeps putting cheap audio tracks on their BD's leaving at least 35 gigs of unused space on the disk and honestly, it's kept me from buying their movies.

Well, there is no other option. They're not going to release the PCM so....

Have you bought it?

No, I haven't. I'm waiting, quite possibly indefinitely, for what has been the rumor for months now. And the rumor is that as soon as retailers run out of DD Superman Returns, they will start sending out ones with PCM and TrueHD.

The UPC for the PCM version that's out there is 085391177913. The catalog number on the original release (the small number on the spine and the number printed on the seal on top of the case) is 82965, where the new one is 117791. Googling either one turns up nothing . . . I've emailed Warner to try to order by both UPC and catalog number, but no go on either. We just have to wait.

Just to add a quick comment about this looking great . . . there's much better. It's a typical early WB smoothie. It was shot to look soft to match the originals, but it's smooth on top of that.

The problem is that the WB warehouse, while having the PCM ones in stock has the DDs and the PCMs mixed together, it's a crapshoot which one you get

Quite sad really that it is taking this long for it to show up.
The WB Warehouse was running out of stock at the end of October, so the title must be moving rather slowly at retail.

WB should offer replacement discs is my personal opinion. The difference in audio on a disc like this is huge, right from the initial planet explosion you feel like it's a whole new movie.

Scratch that - right from the DC Comics logo you feel the difference.

Honestly WB should just liquidate the DD versions, and make sure the PCM versions are listed seperately on Amazon or whereever

I remember a couple of months ago, Best Buy had Supes on sale for $19.99. It sold well in my area, but the replacements have been DD still. However, of the 3 local stores I visit, each only has 1-2 copies on hand.

Try liquefy. DD on a movie like this boggles my mind.

Apparently the UK version has PCM, but not TrueHD. And, as luck would have it, it's region B. I thought Warner was region free.

No PCM on the UK one I'm afraid, like the US only DD Some UK Warner releases have PCM when the US version didnt (Happy Feet and Any Bully), but not Superman Returns.

They might have just copied and pasted. The specs were listed on several websites for the UK having PCM, but it never did.

WickyWoo thanks for the updates on this. Sure would love to have a copy of Superman Returns with TrueHD... I'll keep my fingers crossed for now...

That would be "should", as in "that's what I think they should do", not in "this is their probably course of action"

I have the PCM version. The UPC is 085391177913. I believe its different from the pcm-less SR.
