Sony's 77" A80J just went on sale for $3,497, dropping $1,000!

Don't get me wrong, I like Vincent's videos a lot! That's just my only nitpick about them though.
I think Vincent just called you out on that theory in the video above lol. Let's 3 different LG OLEDS play against a reference monitor as a demonstration.

Also tells me he views this thread

Lol! I did notice this. However, it's still not what I was meaning. He paused it, turned it on, then played it from where he paused it. Which, yes the DTM would be brighter initially. However, if he would have played that Chapter over again and allowed DTM to "settle in" so to speak, I guarantee it wouldn't be brighter but be about the same brightness as the reference monitor. I'm not saying he is wrong on the fact that DTM is inaccurate at times. However, I am saying the demonstration is not how it should be. He almost got what I was meaning though.

I'll never be mad at Vincent though. The man knows his stuff and I love how he did this 3 LG OLED TV shootout!!

I also mentioned my theory on his YouTube video comparing Disney + Dolby Vision vs HDR 10 so that's probably how he figured it out, haha!

so Vincent knows - a compliment, albeit with supplementation

plus, the HX doesn’t track the PQ curve exactly,
but rolls off a bit before the clip

I know that. I think what I was trying to say was that although I disagree with him on DTM, I agree with a lot of things Vincent says. Plus, I want Vincent to know I'm not some idiot who gets on his video comments and downgrades the heck out of him. I just want a little discussion about these things. And honestly, I'm glad there is someone like him educating people about TV and Entertainment Technologies!

That's strange Penton; it's from TechRadar.

It's about OLED, and MiniLED. These two links below (same article) should work ...

I know you respect him, but you concerned about how others around here will perceive you if you do.

Really interesting that Vincent says here that sharpness on LG OLEDs should be set to "0" to be correct. I just adjusted my B6.

Yeah 10 isn't default. It's been shown to introduce edge enhancement, or something else sharpness related.

Both 0 and 10 are both correct settings for sharpness on an LG OLED. The default value on LG OLEDs is 10. The reason Vincent says to set it all the way down to 0 is to truly eliminate any possible artificial sharpening that may happen on lower resolution sources (less than 4K or HD). When it comes to HD and 4K signals, setting it to 0 or 10 makes no difference. And even if it is sharpening the image on lower res signals, it's very small and hardly noticeable. It's really just personal preference.

Man, thank you for posting this. By viewing this on YT, I was suggested something I didn't even know existed: One Step Beyond. What a marvelous black and white show!
