With regard to playback of an actual 60p source it shouldn't matter a jot. These discs don't have some kind of 24p metadata downrezzing, the frame rate of the content is always the frame rate of the content no matter how up/down in the picture quality chain it goes.

So when does 24p off or auto are important?

Watching Billy Lynn 60fps UHD on my 100" screen. One word: Perfection of image!

Is the UK release 60fps too or just the US? Thinking of just picking up the US one anyway since it's about £6 cheaper even after shipping costs are factored in.

UK is 60fps all the way, but I'd get the US one every time. Where are you buying it from though? Wow HD have got it for £18.60 at the moment, guaranteed customs free.

Funnily enough I've got this running in the background (I was doing some checking on what the HDMI inputs on the ZD9 can/can't do) and what's strange is how non-weird it looks to me now. I mean, the first time you watch it the 60p temporal smoothness just sets alarm bells ringing in your brain (and I say that as a fan of HFR, don't get me wrongo) but here I'm watching bits and pieces and it looks like the most natural thing in the world.

Amazon have it for $14.99. That's £11.95 + £5.57 shipping. The item price is under £15 so shouldn't have issues with customs right? It's been a while since I imported, at least from a place that puts the actual price on the package or doesn't mark it as "gift".

The 60fps is the only thing that makes me want to buy this film. I haven't seen HFR since the Hobbit in cinemas, and I loved that. Would have been cool to have full 120fps but 60fps is better than none at all.

Dang, that is a nice price! As you rightly say, no customs troubles should arise because it's well under the £15 threshold. They've got some decent prices on other UHDs too, gonna go and take a look. Thanks for the heads up, Mav!

60p always looked natural to me. 24p always made things look the way things used to when I used to get drunk at 19

So basically almost every movie you've seen, looked the same way as when you were a drunken 19 year old. Wow. At least that explains a lot, I guess.

@Mavrick: the US edition also includes the 3D version, if you want that.

Yes, blurry and at times perceiving things/people moving slower than they really are, just like movies in 24p

By the way, 3D does not allow 60fps...no bueno

Hope one day we can have HDR/HFR/3D all in one format

If anybody is curious how this looks like in 60fps and HDR (if you have the right hardware and software!), I have uploaded a short ad-free clip here:

Dropped through my letter box this morning! 13 days for delivery isn't bad, really well packaged too.

Did this come with a slipcover originally?

I still can't get this disc to play with HDR at 60 fps. My player has the video put through SDR conversion. Could anyone figure out what might be missing?

My TV is an LG C6 OLED TV. My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V679. My UHD player is a Philips BDP7501. They're connected by HDMI 2.0b cables. It'll play in 60 fps but not with HDR, which works during the previews and menu but not the actual movie.
