With regard to playback of an actual 60p source it shouldn't matter a jot. These discs don't have some kind of 24p metadata downrezzing, the frame rate of the content is always the frame rate of the content no matter how up/down in the picture quality chain it goes.

Funnily enough I've got this running in the background (I was doing some checking on what the HDMI inputs on the ZD9 can/can't do) and what's strange is how non-weird it looks to me now. I mean, the first time you watch it the 60p temporal smoothness just sets alarm bells ringing in your brain (and I say that as a fan of HFR, don't get me wrongo) but here I'm watching bits and pieces and it looks like the most natural thing in the world. |

The 60fps is the only thing that makes me want to buy this film. I haven't seen HFR since the Hobbit in cinemas, and I loved that. Would have been cool to have full 120fps but 60fps is better than none at all. |

Dang, that is a nice price! As you rightly say, no customs troubles should arise because it's well under the £15 threshold. They've got some decent prices on other UHDs too, gonna go and take a look. Thanks for the heads up, Mav!

@Mavrick: the US edition also includes the 3D version, if you want that. |

If anybody is curious how this looks like in 60fps and HDR (if you have the right hardware and software!), I have uploaded a short ad-free clip here:

I still can't get this disc to play with HDR at 60 fps. My player has the video put through SDR conversion. Could anyone figure out what might be missing?
My TV is an LG C6 OLED TV. My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V679. My UHD player is a Philips BDP7501. They're connected by HDMI 2.0b cables. It'll play in 60 fps but not with HDR, which works during the previews and menu but not the actual movie. |
