I have coworkers like that. I'm often quiet and apparently have a look on my face that others think I'm mad/upset about some thing, and there's a Couple guys i work with who try to get me to socialize more and when I ride my lift by them minding my own business they think I'm pissed off about something. They don't get it, when I'm at work i have a more serious "work" personality. If they want to socialize they can wait til the end of the day. We're paid to work not shoot the breeze!

On my mind, I'm wondering why my fiancee is insisting on keeping her 95 Toyota pos. Her engine just overheated for the 2d time in 2wks and she had to be towed home, I'm certain i know whats wrong with it but I don't feel its cost effective to justify the time it'll take to fix. Although I cringe at the thought of a 2d car payment, the cost of this repair will exceed what a payment would be on a newer model. When i say something she gets upset and says "you know this was my father's car he gave it to me when i graduated..." and last night she got defensive by saying i kept my 2000 Ranger(just happens to be my first vehicle which I've had for over 10yrs) after we bought a more family friendly vehicle.

no other reason than that. just make sure you cut it up good (depending on what information is printed on it).

ot: wondering why so many females wear superhero costumes (cosplay) where the superhero is actually a male in the comic.

i don't think i've ever seen a male dressed as a female superhero (not that i'd want to).

I've seen a couple that are usually more satirical in nature. They're gross and I wish I didn't see them.

It kept failing to load for me last night, but I picked up a router. Fingers crossed it works and covers the new home. I won’t know until we get the keys and I see where the outlets are in the house. Not to mention, who and what we have for internet.

How do you like the change from the great Pacific Northwest to Texas? I'm sure Texas has some beautiful scenery but I'd sure miss the forests and mountains of Washington. I think I mentioned it before but I used to live in Shelton when I was younger for a few years. Some great memories

I remember you mentioning that. We lived just north of Tacoma in the country area of Fife. So I think we’re adapting pretty well. Definite climate change and everyone seems to complain about the humidity. Especially the MiL. Where we are currently has plenty of vegetation and wildlife, but where we are moving is a small town and seems pretty quiet where we’ll live? And there are free and a green lawn. We also have a couple of larger towns are about a half hour away. I’m starting to get in the unpacking mindset. Since were about a week out from getting the keys.

I have my old license, school IDs, employee badges, etc., just for nostalgia. When I knew I was leaving Google, I had to pretend to lose my ID about a week before my last day and get a new one, just so I could keep the old one.

If you've ever seen a Google employee ID, it's super fancy and holographic with your picture on it.

I have all my old driver's licenses, a couple student IDs from high school and college, a Blockbuster Video card, a Borders rewards card and my lanyard from when I worked at Blockbuster after high school. (Nobody told me you were supposed to turn them in when you leave, so I kept mine.) Also still have my ATM card from when I opened my first bank account when I started working at Blockbuster. No other reason for me to still have them than just for nostalgia.

Can't stand how I always look in pictures. My old IDs get shredded instantly upon getting a new one too.

the only IDs i've had that had my picture on them are my license and the ID from my previous job (cards were coded to let us in the building so they could tell who came in or left and at what time).

but i hate having my picture taken. i always look pissed in them 'cause i never smile (aggravates the hell out of my sister, lol).

That's great that you're getting your keys soon! How long had you been planning this move? I always think it's quite brave when people up and move whether it's spontaneous or years in planning. I know there's a lot of beautiful states but I can't imagine moving from California any time soon.

I'm okay with socializing at work, assuming I like the person. I just don't like socializing with idiots that don't have a coherent thought the whole day. Especially ones who don't really work at all and are quite obvious about it.

I'm still around. They're required to let me out for conjugal visits and it doesn't take long, so I try to sneak in a post or two. RageATL is currently on the lam and wanted by the beer police for not knowing what good beer is. How have you been?

I guess it depends on where you live in California. I’m from central California and don’t miss it. I lived in Washington for 27 years and only been back there once? Long story short. We’d been talking about moving and scouting out where to move for a long time. Texas seemed to be the sweet spot for us. What fast tracked the move date was my MiL partner passing around the first of the year and realizing how alone she was out at the coast. Everything moved forward from there. Sold both house and her condo, 2 vehicle caravan across some states and here we are.

Yeah, I’m having a hard time finding a good beer or alcohol at this point here. Best I’ve found in an IPA is Blood & Honey American Ale by Revolver Brewery and El Chingon. I drink that last one at the movies. Outside of Pendleton and other we’ll knowns I’ve not found a decent whiskey and don’t get me started on bourbon.
