reading a couple things about it....they talk about streaming/digital media being one of the main causes. and i get that streaming is easier, quicker, etc. but streaming, in it's current state, does NOT beat out physical media. with physical media, there is no need for an internet connection. and that does away with any issues that can/do arise from using an internet connection to watch a movie. streaming isn't bad...hell, i stream movies a good bit. but for the best resolution and sound, it doesn't get any better than physical media.

and what's sad is that the current average bandwidth isn't good enough for true 4k streaming capabilities.

amazon recommends at least 15 mbps for streaming 4k, while netflix recommends at least 25 mbps. BUT, according to one source i read, having other devices on the same network, that might be used at the same time, will mean that even 25 mbps won't be enough.

the current average speed is around 18 mbps (which is what mine is). i haven't tried to stream anything in 4k as i don't have a tv that is capable of displaying 4k (hopefully that will be rectified in the near future).

and that's not adding in the fact that some isp companies use data caps. so streaming a movie in 4k would definitely cause you to over the cap since most aren't all that high to begin with. and getting an internet bill for more than $300 (made up number...no idea, really, how much it would be, lol) each month just because someone likes to stream 4k movies is ridiculous.
