Halloween gets lamer and lamer with each passing year. First, it's like freaking July out there, with temperatures at least 20 degrees above normal and high humidity. WTF? Next, I've never seen such pathetic excuses for costumes in my life. Idiots walking around in lame face paint and goofy bunny ears. People think just because they sprinkle some glitter on their foreheads and prance around wearing fuzzy animal appliances that they've got Halloween covered. I guess it's the one day of the year when adults feel free to be seen in public making fools of themselves. At least they actually do it on Halloween, not like some jerks who celebrate it two weeks early.

In lighter news. We are getting a divorce. So I need to start looking for a place. Hopefully I can find something affordable around here. Since this is where I work. Anyway, going to get cleaned up and check out a couple of places before I head into work.

Oh shit man, I'm so sorry to hear this but hopefully it is for the better. As a previously divorced guy (now remarried) I can tell you from my experience that it was the best thing that ever happened to me. In fact, I wish it happened sooner instead of wasting all of the awful years, haha. Good luck, Don.

TBH, not sure if I knew you were previously divorced or not.

I'm going through my own times, and have for awhile, just hard to imagine going that route. I often think it'd be better for me, but it's much more complicated with not only the financials, but the children.

Yeah man, it sucked at the time, I lost a TON of weight, etc., but in the grand scheme of things it was an "easy" split (if that makes sense) due to not having kids. Divided up the assets, I kept the house, she moved to Florida. Done and done.

Ugh, sorry to hear that, man, but yeah makes sense with the kiddos.

sorry to hear it had come to that, Don. I'm hoping my situation improves a bit, my wife and I have been living separate lives the past 2 months...I've been sleeping on the couch and when I'm home during the day she usually finds an excuse to go out. If it weren't for the kid I'd probably be finding a motel or a cheap apartment near work, it would save a ton of gas money and wear & tear on the Jeep as I wouldn't be driving ~200 miles/day.

Latest debacle I've been in, we have had this family renting out our 2nd house for the last year. Well, the man is a private(self-employed), general contractor and apparently has had a hard time finding jobs and his wife has been a stay at home mother/home schooler, so without income coming in they have been behind on their rent the last couple months. They somehow find enough money to buy expensive electronics and new vehicles but can't afford to pay their rent on time? Well I told the Wife if I didn't get the rent by 3 Nov I was going to deliver a eviction notice, she went off saying "well give them some time, they've only got one income and have small kids..yadayada" ...I responded with, do you think the tax man will give us a break on the taxes? Are you interested in losing your mother's house because we can't pay the taxes on a house we let freeloaders live in?

I get it people go through troubled times, heck I HAVE BEEN THERE MANY TIMES personally but I can sense it when someone is clearly taking advantage of us. They've already got a raw deal going on here, a 6bdrm house for $700/mo in a market where a similar house would cost over 1500/mo. Oh, and don't get me started on NY laws protecting deadbeat tenants like this, where were these laws when I was in a predicament where I couldn't afford childcare AND rent and got kicked out with less than 12hrs notice. Ever raise a baby in the back of a rusted out Dodge Neon? Its no fun.

I hate Christmas, but I hate Thanksgiving more. It's worthless. Never cared for football, family has never been that close. Just a completely bleh holiday. At least with Christmas, gifts are involved. That's about all I can say about that.

Yep. I concur. Too many Debbie Downers here. The holidays rock. Thanksgiving is the single greatest meal of the year. Plus like Rage said, throw in football and family and you have the recipe for sone good times and serious food coma. Come to think of it I need to bust out my Joey pants.
