Sunday used to be my favorite day of the week. Now work schedules me 11 to 8 every single Sunday. It quickly became my least favorite day of the week.

But you're off on the 25th right? That's all that matters.

i gotta work the eve, as well. i normally work 12:30-9:30, but that day i work 8:30-5:30 since we close at 5:00 on that day.

i like going in earlier and getting off earlier, but i'll still miss the family get-together since it's gonna be a lunch thing, this year. oh well, i'm off on christmas (wouldn't work even if i WAS scheduled), and that's the important day.

i'm also off on new year's eve (not that i ever do anything, anymore). and i go in earlier and get off earlier on the 1st. i don't remember us having different hours on that day...but, whatever. i'll just work what i'm scheduled and still get my 40.

the blog seems to be up
https://derlebens.home.blog/

At least I'll have a few days off before Thursday after tonight. I changed the night shift to day after Christmas since that would be so much better for me. I almost hate my job but its probably just the season.

My divorce. Hopefully The Ex files today so that I can sign and get it notarized tomorrow. I want to get the ball rolling and pray my child support payments are manageable. Then the only thing I will have to do is get the car in my name once the tabs are due in February. I’ve at least been smart enough to try and squirrel some money away for a rainy day. Throwing a bunch of my collectibles on eBay hasn’t hurt. Although I gave her a pretty good chunk of that a few days ago. All in all, things are going alright. I just need to get off the floor and get some furniture in this place

I’m glad that things are working out so far Donster.
Breakups can be tough. Starting over can be fun.

I’m happy to be outta here tomorrow. I miss My Love, my family and my FurBrats.

Cavs win against the Hornets tonight. It took them almost 2 months to get 7 measly wins.

Well, early b-day gift for me.

At which point does your own happiness is prioritized over your children's happiness?

Not having children of my own, I can't speak from direct experience, but I'd find it fairly hard to ever prioritize my own happiness over those I am destined to care for. Marriage and family should ideally never feel like sacrifice Though, that being said, I'd say under the best of circumstances, things should at least even out a bit when they leave for college or join the workforce on a full-time basis. Hopefully you've exercised more than due diligence by then. Though if despite it all they should somehow stumble greatly, that is probably a very personal journey that few can adequately advise you on; parallel roads with varying distance that will inevitably continue to cross from time to time.

I suppose it depends judging by my father but we didn't have a good home life on account of mom being mentally ill.

Ahhh...Biz, I’m sorry to hear that. As I said when I saw where my current marriage was headed, this ain’t my first rodeo. My older boys were 5 and 1 when their mother and I divorced. I basically left for the same reasons. So if you both feel you can’t work it out, leave. You’ll both be happier for it. I’m hoping The Ex and I are. Although I wish this had happened in Washington State for the simple fact Texas wants us both to take a online parenting class that we both have to pay separately before we even get a hearing on our divorce in a couple of months

Thing is, she just seems content with everything. It's like she's blind.

Weird about the class. Texas does have some weird things. My father had to take an online car course or something. I miss Pearland and having my father and my therapist.

well last night I heard though facebook the owner who owns a Chinese restaurant called ocha was going to retire this week he knows everybody over the years and what food they like

I guess I started going over there college days so speak back in 2000 i always get same food: rice broccoli beef spicy beef and 2 chicken balls yum yum along with a drink

you can only used cash that's it anyways I had to over there for lunch today owner had it since 85 and been running it past 50 years

the place is near big college we got Tennessee tech<-a lot of students has been going over their for lunch over the years

apparently some folks were taking pics of the owner vitch of course I had to get my pic with him as well

i'm sure yesterday and today a lot of folks been coming in lunch and dinner

seems they are closing mon and reopen 1st week of jan due to holiday season I guess the good news its not going to be closed down

it just going to be strange not seeing him next year when they open up, and owner won't be serving it to me i believe his kid or somebody else going to take over

Had to take my dog to a vet today. Nothing serious - she just turned out to have allergies - so the doc gave me some pills for her. Just tried to give her one and she would NOT open her mouth for anything. Ended up losing the pill after it broke off into a million pieces. Grr! I know putting them in food is one option but it doesn't say that in the instructions. It does, though, on the other bottle of pills so I'll have to come up with a clever way of hiding the pill in her food but dogs are ****ing smart. My dog probably won't touch the food if she sees a little blue thing in it. Double grrr.
