I have yet to encounter any film where the sound mix is so inherently bad that I can't make out the majority of the dialogue. I don't think it's a sin to miss dialogue here and there, btw. I mean, not every word should be expected to be so readily accessible...that's indicative of life and the performances captured on film. If there's an occasional line that I do miss, and if it bothers me so, I can go always back afterwards and check it on the subtitles. I just haven't had any film to where I found it worth it to have subtitles on for the first viewing for a language I'm already versed in. If someone, hearing-enabled, still feels the need for subtitles though, then more power to them. I just feel like some of those people do not understand what they're trading off in the process, especially when you have subtitles preceding the performances, lessening the impact and spoiling key moments. |

Wondering why it took me so long to put LED bulbs on the fan in my room. I always avoided turning that light on because it would make my room get hot. Now, I can have the room fully lit, and it stays cool in here. I'm happy.

Also, don't forget about the utility savings. A 1500 lumen, 100 watt equivalent LED bulb is about 15 watts. So that means about seven of those bulbs would equal the electricity usage of a 100 watt incandescent bulb. I don't know about you but I think seven 100 watt bulbs in a bedroom is freakin' bright!

Figuring out my dual-monitor setup. I have an older HP All-in-One desktop with a 24" screen, and I bought a 22" EliteDisplay monitor with the intention of placing it vertically to the left of my desktop. I really don't like this orientation for monitors, but the new monitor is quite nice (even though it's technically smaller than my desktop), so I just placed an order for another one.
These monitors aren't sold on HP's site anymore, so I'm getting them from a company on Amazon Marketplace. I guess I'll run the dual 22s horizontally, despite it taking up quite a bit of space on my desktop. I'll still have a little bit of wiggle room, so I guess it's ok. I'll keep the second monitor I just ordered aside for a bit until I can upgrade to the HP EliteDesk Mini tower I've been wanting. Hopefully my setup will look a lot better once it's all done, but I'm not sure how long it'll be before I get the mini tower. At least I have the matching monitors out of the way, so my OCD can rest. |

As I vacate the storage unit (I fully believe I can get everything or give away stuff to make this a last trip) I wonder if I should have the door locked or just keep the lock with me. It will be empty and the security code should be fine until I talk to them long distance on Monday about ending the lease.

I am going to switch each and every movie to a Thin Case!
The only ones that won't be are the 3 or more disk sets... Movies and bonus features. All box sets will be emptied and then displayed or sold. 1: it'll save me room 2: Hunger Games Catching Fire caused this. the glue/cardboard page came loose and got on the disk. 3: all cases will be sold off, and this includes steelbooks. |

Taking my first attempt at the Series 7 exam tmrw. Really nervous! I need a 72% to pass. My employer has been paying me to study and get prepped up. If I don't pass the exam within 2 attempts I lose my job. Lots of pressure.
