Debating on whether I want to take Wednesday night off next week or just Thursday & Friday. I'm heading back to Kentucky to do some last minute cleaning and turning in my old apartment keys. I've got the PTO to cover both days but I was thinking I likely wouldn't need that extra day...but it is a long drive so I'm conflicted.

Me, too. More so 10,000 Maniacs than Natalie Merchant, but I still dig her. I got to meet her and Dennis Drew backstage once.

2:29am and I’m on my first break of the night. 4 hours until I’m vamonos. I brought my helmet and gloves with me to work tonight and I wore jeans because I plan to practice riding tomorrow in the Costco lot right next door. I’ll plan to practice getting familiar with the friction zone and doing lots of turns and U turns. Lots of slow speed stuff and keeping a nice, tight straight line as if I was lane splitting between cars.

After that, I’m not sure what I’ll do. It may be a no-spend day but I’m not sure yet. I already want Taco Bell lol. I may go to the BMW bike dealer to check out some gear. I’ve heard that they carry a brand in the store that Cycle Gear only sells online.

I need to get my Explorer in the garage, but it's always a pain doing that. Then you have to arrange for someone to pick you up and take you back.

When I first learned to ride, that is what I did....find a big parking lot and just get the muscle memory down.

I hate that MoneyLion loan payments take 5 business days to clear, if paid with a checking account, as you can't utilize their InstaCash until payment has cleared. 5 business days

I wasn't out there too long. Maybe I'll practice more on a day off when I don't have to be back later the same day for another shift. I did some circles, making sure I didn't go too wide. I did a couple U-turns from a stop. I did some figure 8s and did some more turns making sure to use my signal and then turn it back off. Concentrate on looking ahead at the exit of each turn. I should have worked on taking off from a standstill but I'd say I have the clutch down well enough. There are times though, especially when it's cold where I can easily kill the bike so I have to figure that out. I feel like it's not me in those cases but who knows. After my Costco parking lot practice, I went out for a short ride and then came back and parked it. I ended up leaving my car and my bike at work and took the bus and light rail home lol

That's the way to do it. I remember practicing making right turns up a steep hill from a stand still....had to make sure you didn't turn so sharp that the foot peg struck the ground, which would had my going down on the low side with the bike on top of me. Trick was you needed the speed, but not too much where you went wide into the other lane.

Now that BK breakfast has been consumed, I have perhaps the most important decision I’ll make all day facing me; strawberry sundae at Costco, donuts from a nearby shop or both…hmmm

Just fired off a good 'ol email to Criterion requesting some disc replacements.

Paris, Texas - 4K
Yojimbo- 4K
Pink Flamingos - BD

They usually tell me to clean the disc which is hilarious and then ask for photographs. I always tell them they can have the bad discs back. Who tf wants scratched discs? Send them all back to Mexico for all I care. Just get me some daggone clean discs and better QC.

Sunday night. Woke up in pain and swelling. Went to the va in dsm. I needed a specialist. University of Iowa here i come. Major fast moving bacterial infection and full blown diabetes with a blood sugar of 390. Been here all week. Be here until probably Monday. Transfer to a care facility at the VA in dsm to continue recovery. Be there maybe a week or two. Hard for me to read these forums on my phone. I'm not dead yet.
