And then you try to go on the off-season only to find out the good rides are down for maintenance, and yet it's still relatively busy. I miss the days when my wife and I were still dating (late 90s) and we had annual passes (which at the time were the price of a single ticket today). We were both working swing shift and lived 15 mins. away at the time so once a week we'd go in the morning mid-week just to get coffee and walk around. Main St. was almost always empty and we had the whole place to ourselves.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the city itself. I wouldn't go there now unless I had to. I just like the general area up there. But there was one time that I appreciated when we stayed in downtown SF over a weekend during NFL season back in the late 90s. We were getting breakfast on a Sunday and just about the entire town was plastered in red from people sporting their 49ers gear. They were everywhere, street corner to street corner, building to building. And by the time the game started, nobody to be found. I'm not a SF sports fan (especially dislike the Giants), but I really appreciated the community gathering around their team.
Pretty sure that Disneyland is the first place that I ever had a churro.

And while we didn't see much in San Francisco last Sunday, we still had a good time and I look forward to getting back and exploring some more. I think the last time I was there was in 2023 and before that it was 2020.

How many of you watch your Blu-ray discs on your PC? I was wondering if there is a specific PC monitor anyone could recommend that's decent for watching films.

Thanks.

I used to. What's your budget? PC monitors are still not cheap if you want decent PQ for movies, particularly if you want HDR. And you'd probably want an OLED at that. I've tried out a few (mainly for gaming) and only the pricier ones get bright enough for HDR content, in which case I'd recommend a Dell Alienware AW3225QF for the larger display. I've tried Samsung OLEDs as well, but the Alienware still beats it with HDR and overall picture, plus Samsung monitors are doggedly slow navigating through the menus.

But really though, for the price, you could also just get a 32" TV with good HDR support. A decent one will be cheaper than a PC monitor and work just fine with a PC these days. Maybe something like the Samsung Q8F QLED which just got a refreshed 2025 model and has great peak brightness.

My budget would be anywhere from $150 to $300.

Thanks so much for the informative post!

Dang that's an expensive purse! I wonder if it would cost more here. I would imagine it would but not sure. And what kind of candy is that? If you decide you don't want it, I'll take it

Cool

Two days ago was my 20 year anniversary on Ask Andy About Clothes, a message board primarily geared toward all kinds of formal attire and shoes for men and women. But all kinds of casual attire for men and women are also covered.

The candy is similar to these gummy candy.

Come over my house and I’ll share some with you. Hurry or I’ll eat it all!

My sister hasn’t finished unpacking. They might have more stuff. The mystery continues………

Freaking out. Just found out that the bugs I've been routinely seeing are bed bugs. They became a HUGE problem Friday night during movie night. It's only my couch that is affected at the moment. I took everything off the couch (slipcovers and such) and threw them in the wash with hot water. I then did a thorough vacuum of the couch (inside, out, and behind). I picked up some Raid Bed Bug spray and bombed the couch with it too. So far all that has done trick, as I have only seen 2 in the last 2 days. Whereas I was seeing 4, 5, or more in a 30 minute timespan. May need a new couch. I'm not paying for it. The homeowner's association will be footing that bill. I don't believe they sprayed my house for pests the last time they were here. And I think that's what caused this issue. I also blame SF for this. He's given me his pest problems. Dam you SF.

Me and my oldest sister have never found a lot of that above to be an issue. We generally can get a SHIT TON of rides in one day for both parks. And in some cases, multiple times too. And we've never found the pricing to be horrendous either. I'm sure it's not as good as it was 30 years ago. But what is really.

Can't you get her a subscription? or perhaps a box of em from Office Depot.

My daughter just called me from the first aid cabin at camp, apparently she and 3 of her bunk mates accidentally walked into a hornet's nest this morning. I didn't get the full story but at least she's OK but damn that's pretty scary, she was stung 6 times. Nothing a little Benadryl can't fix though I guess. One of the girls were stung so many times that she had to be transported to the local ER for treatment, so it could've been worse.

Getting the whole camp experience y'all!

We used to go 4-5 times a year (sometimes more) up until covid, and this has been a common occurrence starting around the early-mid 2010s. Big Thunder Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Pirates in particular have had notable multiple downed occurrences in that time-span. Obviously it isn't all the time, but way more than they used to be, compared to the 90s and 2000s when were going way more when my kids were younger. Last we went in 2023 Big Thunder was down again. We could just be unlucky, of course, but given the frequency that we used to go having passes over the years since the late 90s, it has been more notable of late.

Thank goodness for Galaxy's Edge, at least. I can just hang out there all afternoon to satisfy my nerdness and call it a day.
