That's because you have no context. People are boring, in general, and that's not a bad thing, to them. So, watching other people blabber has no special meaning to an outsider.

When you can do it with someone you know, the context of the relationship/conversation is there and it's more involving.

Been thinking about Kafka's The Metamorphosis, and how pathetic Gregor is. His parents are horribly selfish, too. He has no redeeming qualities, he's possibly a masochist and even seems to get off on his torment. Honestly, I wish the house had collapsed in and killed the whole wretched family including that ***** of a maid.

Straws, in general, are great for helping in the prevention of cavities (if used properly). I bought some metal straws a few years back. I tried using them for a couple of months. I never got comfortable with them. You have to be aware EVERY single time you take a sip, which sounds easy until sip #5227 and you accidentally lean in awkwardly through distraction and break a tooth, lacerate the gumline, etc. etc.. Thankfully, I never had such an incident, but I had a few close calls where it gave me pause. The dental school I go to for my checkups and cleanings basically verified that their emergency department gets steady traffic from metal straw users.

If you think that not using plastic straws will save the planet, that's great. I just don't think that metal straws are the answer. My trade-off is that I just use my plastic straw for many multiple uses, rinsing it through/off in the sink between cups (as it's just soda or tea). It's not a perfect system, but it saves my mouth and my wallet, at least.

I just happened to see some metal straws on Target’s app and there is a Circle coupon for 10% off on the Klean brand.

I came into possession of an old Sony DVD changer but my small bedroom flatscreen doesn't have analog inputs - can anyone recommend a good converter (not upscaler) that I can grab from Amazon? I understand not all of these converters actually work. I wouldn't mind spending a bit more if they're guaranteed to do what they're supposed to.

I found this one which might do the trick. Lots of reviews and photos in the reviews of people using this for their older consoles. Actually looks pretty okay from the photos.

Some reviews complain the converter stretches out 4:3 to fill the screen and the photos in the reviews also appear to show the same. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks. I'll see if they make a version that has Component Video-to-HDMI (the one pictured is an RCA-to-HDMI converter).
