Thinking a lot recently about finding more ways to work from home in the near future. Nothing to lose and nowhere to go but up. Maybe do 2 or 3 different jobs and see how it ends up going. I'm so tired of doing manual labor jobs that don't pay enough and are destroying my body at a young age, don't wanna go back to school, etc.

I used to flip collectibles on eBay and Instagram, maybe I'll get into that again with something else on the side. Any work that involves my hobbies would be ideal. I look at all of these other people who work from home and are getting paid to sit there and talk about anime, video games, movies and don't see why I couldn't do that.

You mean going to stores and buying a ton of one item? Nope. Look at a majority of Steelbooks and limited edition game releases, etc. They're getting like $10 or $20 bucks after fees and shipping if they're lucky.

I'd do Pokemon cards, booster packs, game bundles and such. The market for vintage Pokemon has absolutely exploded in the years that I've been away. Everything is selling for 2 to 3 times what it was when I was in the game. The main reason I got away from it is because I found a different job and it required a lot of time. I'd sit on the computer on and off from 10 am to 12 am and go through newly listed items. It gets tiring day after day. I'm on the computer a ton anyway though.

Same. My job (night shift in a warehouse) has gotten to a point where its physical demands are starting to take effect on me. I'm constantly tired, exhausted, and dreading work. Not to mention my sleep schedule is all effed up. The pay is ok, the benefits are great, but at what cost to me? Unfortunately, I don't have much of an option but to ride it out for as long as I can to pay down debts until school is done. Then I can try to float off savings for a while during my search for a remote job.

If you enjoy surveys, swagbucks and e-rewards aren't bad. I prefer swagbucks because it also has a cashback portal and sends out a fair amount of live surveys - the live chats pay well compared to the quick surveys, and the targeted webcam live interviews pay extremely well. Plus every month you can redeem $22 worth of swagbucks for a $25 gift card at most places.

It is by no means a job because its inconsistent and doesn't value your time like a "real" job, its more extra pocket money on amazon and best buy for me.

Also, bing rewards is another I do. I just load up the page, do the mobile and desktop searches (news for desktop, movies for mobile) and about every two weeks I have enough for a $5 amazon gc.

Just my experience.

Rejoicing in my mind about housemate bestie's success at the lake today. She snagged four catfish, ~12 lbs total. That's four good dinners she just caught us for the price of half a container of nightcrawlers. On our budget, this is like hitting the jackpot.

That sounds like how I feel. I'm doing about 30 hours a week and I'm still constantly tired. I could get 6-8 hours of sleep or 10-12 and feel the same. Without an energy drink I typically take a nap too. The pay isn't even good either. Eventually it will reach a point where I physically can't do it anymore. The heavy lifting is causing me a lot of pain. The job just isn't worth hernias and permanent back damage, but here I am.

How come the BBC almost never concludes shows in a good way? It’s always a half assed attempt at ending a show, that results in more questions than answers. When they decide a show is over, they just end it without wrapping everything up.

Exactly. It doesn't matter how long I sleep for, I'll still be tired and need a nap before long. It's just insane. I'm hoping I can get through it for now and pay down my bills and save up. I'm going to take regular vacations, too, to take a break from the hustle and bustle. One of our great benefits here is we get 12hrs of PTO a month, and can only carry 40hrs into the new year, so hopefully this COVID stuff subsides a bit more by December so I can go somewhere.

Best of luck to you. I know it's difficult. Keep focused on your true goals and just push through as best you can.

Sorry to hear that Rocknblues, losing a parent or getting news like this is always a difficult situation to deal with.

losing my father was worse than losing my mother. I remember be in denial when he was getting worse and just couldn't bear the end. still can't get over it.

I'm sorry that its a pain and might still be a pain as you never get over them. just remember the good times which is always hard to do but there should always be good times to relay on.
