_______ What's on mind is this guy Gary M. Heidnik. I can't believe how many chances there were to get this guy off the streets for good, long before the murders. He'd been in and out of State Hospitals and convicted before the final arrest. |

In forums, Discords, chat streams, etc... I've had to defend liking something sooo many times... I've liked Posts..... *Just because the person had the balls to say it. (no matter the subject) *I found funny. (again regardless of the subject matter) *I though might of been a good comeback/reply to someone else ( even if I agreed with the original poster and not the reply I "liked ") I had someone say:"Hey man I thought we were friends, why would you do me that way" ( when I liked a reply that zinged that person ) I replied: "becuase I thought it was funny" He wanted me to remove the LIKE I gave the guy you zinged him... ( I didn't ) Etc, etc..... Last edited by BWBODDY; 06-07-2020 at 12:11 AM. |

![]() But seriously, I was just trying to come up with some examples off the top of my head, about how liking a Post isn't the same as endorsing it or agreeing with it.. And I don't believe I've ever actually done that one.... And just FYI incase someone is wondering the real world example I gave wasn't a case of me doing that........... Quote:

I just texted my wife this morning asking what she wanted to do this week and her answer was "I dunno wanna go camping?" This threw me off guard as she always hated camping, it's one of the few differences we have. Regardless what the reason I'd love to I only wish I knew when my new truck will be ready for pick up, damn covid 19 delays!

been shopping handmade masks, and what really appeals to me in fabric designs: 1) couch fabric prints, 2) cats - the more the better, 3) very busy classic comic book super hero prints, 4) 1990's dragon prints who would have thought! lol |

DVDs didn't really have this problem since they had gaudy menus, but a lot of "minimal" blu-ray menus make it difficult to see which item is currently selected, especially when there are only 2 options and you can't decipher whether the lighter one or the darker one is the current choice. They should use an arrow or some other indicator instead.

![]() One time I thought I selected subtitles for one of the movies, and when I watched it there were no subtitles, and I had to go back into the menu and change it. And even though every Criterion movie has the same standardized menu, I keep forgetting if it's the light or dark gray. As the consumer, I shouldn't have to memorize which color shade is "on" and which is "off" ![]() |

All menus should have an arrow pointing to your selection, or at least a box surrounding it (especially for ones with only two options).

its been making me wonder.this whole BLM thing about my mental illness and sometimes not feeling like my life matters at all in this world even to those that I know love me but just not at the world at large. If actually cared about mental illness we would have elimnated by now but only things like BLM matter more even though mental illness affects all of us white and black and transgender yet it doesn't get the same treatment.
it is wrong to have mental illness and we need to work on it. not me nor anybody deserves to grow up in an emotionally devoid, abused relationship with their mother and have it affect there abilities the rest of their lives. not meant to diminish BLM but other causes are just important and we fail to see that epexicallyy when it effects everyone. |

I had a friend, whom I’ve known for all of my life, pass away at the age of 41 on June 3rd, 2020. Ever since, I’ve been numb and can’t stop thinking about him not being with us anymore.
When I was growing up, there was a group of 4 of us boys, that lived within 300 yards of each other, in rural North Central Alabama. Although, we were in the country, we were only about 10 miles from a city of 15,000. We played together every day in the summer, and almost every day in the school year. We were as close as brothers, and were almost all related as cousins. It was truly like the movie Stand By Me. We had an adventure almost everyday. Or we just sat around and talked, or played backyard sports, video games, or went swimming at the local public pool. It was only when I went away to college, at the age of 20 that I didn’t see my friends almost everyday. Although, my group of childhood friends lost one of our members last week, he is not forgotten by any of us, and we will always carry his memory with us. I keep thinking about the Richard Dreyfus beginning and ending to Stand By Me. I see myself driving/walking the roads we walked in the 80’s to mid 90’s, remembering all the times we had together. Then asking myself over and over, if anyone has friends like they did when they were 12 years old. I know the loss that I feel right now, that the answer to that question is I will never have any friends that will replace the group of friends I had when I was 12. |

My deepest condolences on your loss. Someone I grew up with, drifted apart in our teen years and met back up later in life recently took her own life so I know the pain you must be feeling right now. |

excellent movie reference, btw. those scenes can really hit home for a lot of people. when my cousin died not too long ago, all i could do was remember all the good times we had growing up. and that's all i want to remember. now, i just think about his mom and dad, and sister (who has the same disease he had...and will die from it, as well) and brother. losing 2 kids to the same disease and knowing you can't do anything about it is something i can't even fathom. shit, losing one has to be bad enough. but when it's 2, and you know it's coming and you can't stop it? i just...i just don't know how she'll carry on. his younger brother took it real hard. a long time ago i heard something that is starting to ring true, for me... there comes a time for everyone when life stops giving you things, and it starts taking them away but knowing it's coming never makes it any easier. i hope you can find peace and happiness in those memories. it may be all you have left, but sometimes that's enough. |
