I've been noticing a lot of untied shoelaces on people wearing sneakers lately - just a mess of loose tangled laces, which looks REALLY sloppy. I thought there was an epidemic of people who are just too lazy to tie their laces appropriately until someone clued me in that this is actually a fashion trend. WTF? What's this world coming to?

I have a job interview tomorrow, which I haven't had in YEARS at Trader Joes - uh, what does one wear for a job interview / 'clothes etiquette' lately ??

If you are interviewing for a managerial position or office position, I would say suit.

If you're interviewing for a more informal work environment (like actually working inside the market doing stock, etc) I would say business casual, at minimum, if you know a suit is not required. You can always call the recruiter and find out what the dress code should be.

Go with chinos or khakis and a shirt with a collar, nice clean shoes. Do not wear jeans, shorts, sneakers, sandals, t-shirt.

Don't look sloppy is the best way to put it.

Good luck, dude. I hope you knock it out of the park.

Girl with glasses, just in case you change it again, so you know which one I'm referring to.

Every job interview I went to, I always wore pressed pants, long sleeve button down shirt and a tie.
Black socks and black sneakers.
Shoes hurt my feet...

For Trader Joe's, If you really want to impress your interviewer, wear tight highwater slacks with ankle socks, a white shirt and a bow tie

I bought a new button down shirt yesterday from Jo. S Banks yesterday; and I have a new leather black tie, I think I'm gonna wear - or is the leather tie too much wearing my black suspenders and I'll look like I'm headed off to a leather kink party.

I've been wondering what working from home feels like. I imagine a person would still feel like they still need to be on their toes all day especially if they have to take zoom meetings/calls. It's not like you can walk around in your PJs, watch a movie or two or lay in bed while "working". Even if you're home you still feel like someone owns you for 8 or 9 hours.

It depends on the nature of the work, but yes it has its own difficulties. Making yourself ignore errands, the theater room and housework is hard enough. Then if you live with others it requires them to understand that your unavailable all day, even if your in the next room.

I've been converted to full-time working from home. I'm pretty much in sweats all day except when I am on a call (we use MS Teams) and depending on who is in the call, I'll put on a shirt with a collar.

I have the TV on usually in the background streaming something or other. Usually I like to have Discovery Plus on streaming a food or nature program.

Work is still busy with plenty to do and projects to work on. But I will say sometimes it is hard to disconnect. When I would commute into the city, I would be up around 6:30 to catch the 7:30 LIRR. But now that I am working from home, I can get up around 8am instead. The good thing is, leadership from the top down has told us that just because we are no longer commuting, we should not be logging into work at 7:30am or working late just because we are home and that it is very important to distinguish time spent working and time spent away.

I definitely don't miss the commute but I do miss the people. Also, I've been thinking about 6th Ave a lot. From around 34th to 48th street. Lots of great places to eat in that area. After audit season I might take a day off just to go there and hang for a day. Maybe.

That Herald Square area is as vibrant as ever. Not sure about further north towards Times Square (haven't visited much since covid hit) but there are a lot of boarded-up places. And, of course, lots of vagrancy.

that's fantastic !! (high five!)

speaking for myself, I got a fitbit for Xmas, and I've been trying to walk as much as possible, weather permitting, last Tuesday went on an almost five mile walk, which I then negated by eating a small bag of cheetos [oops].

I watched the movie Stillwater for the first time tonight and a large part of the film was shot in Marseilles and it really makes me want to go back to Europe.

Also wondering if I'll buy The Many Saints Of Newark and No Time To Die at Best Buy or Target. I earn the Reward Zone points at Best Buy but I save 5% at Target. Hmmm

Thanks Dub!
Yeah, I have to FORCE myself to not buy complete and utter crap!
I have a MASSIVE sweet tooth!
As one with a broken back, I can't really exercize. So the pounds come on easy and go off hard.
But, I really packed them on Thanksgiving, Christmas and new years dinners.
I want to be back to my "frame weight" of 150.
I have 50 more to go.
I hit 230 a few times over the last few years and I get it back to 200 and I just always feel horrible when over 150.
