My tastes run the gamut too. I listen to a wide range of things except for most modern pop, most metal, most hip-hop, and movie scores. Those genres generally don't do it for me. I don't listen to opera, but not because I don't like it perse. I just don't have a lot of access to it. Been meaning to listen to Rufus Wainwright's opera though. As for 120 Minutes, I didn't live and breathe it quite so because initially, I couldn't. I didn't discover 120 Minutes until I was a junior in high school. And then I couldn't watch it. It came on at 11:00 where I'm at and I was in bed and asleep long before then.

I had a strict bedtime. I made sure to watch more once I graduated high school though. Going back to The Judybats, I remember while I was in LA for Spring Break I got to stay up and watch 120 Minutes. That particular night they showed videos for two songs; Throwing Muses' Counting Backwards and The Judybats' Native Son. I rushed right out the next day and bought both cassettes for those albums the songs were on. I remember that vividly still to this day. What really got me about The Judybats was that they were a band from an area where my mom's family lives/lived. I thought it was so cool to see a band in my neck of the woods on MTV and 120 Minutes.

as to the Judybats, I love 'Native Son', but what did 120 Minutes play from their 1992 album: "Down in the Shacks Where the Satellite Dishes Grow"?

The song I remember 120 Minutes pimping was 'Being Simple' from their 1993 album 'Pain Makes You Beautiful'. However the group that the tv show made a hardcore fan was/is Hershey Pennsylvania's 'The Ocean Blue'

As to opera, I blame Mozart and specifically the movie 'Amadeus' - I adore 'The Magic Flute' and I'm seeing 'The Marriage of Figaro' this coming Sunday. I can also gloat and say I've seen the entire Wagner Ring Cycle back in 2016 at the Kennedy Center, damn impressive if not utterly exhausting

I don't know what all they played of The Judybats. I only ever Native Son that one time. I never could get a consistent read on 120 Minutes since I wasn't able to watch it while I was still in school. I really wish I watched it more over time. Life just got in the way. I still kept up with the music as best I could.

Man, I am sorry if I ruffled any feathers. I wasn't trying to. I certainly understand how awful it is to throw families out of their homes. They're displacing lots of people in my city too. It's a real shame to see these people, some with families, kicked out with little hope of anywhere to go. It's truly disheartening. The thing is this is not some sort of new trend. This has gone on as long as cities have grown and space has become a hot commodity. It doesn't make it better and I am not trying to trivialize it either. I was merely pointing out how this is a fact in life. Nothing is guaranteed in life. And it was never meant to be. I never meant to cause any kind of discord. I am truly sorry. I was trying to uplift in a way. I don't think I came across well though. I hope you understand. Have a great day.

Yeah. it's been on my list to pick up but I have had so many others that I got instead. I need to get it at some point. I really do like Throwing Muses. Though I think the band's better with Tanya Donelly in the group.

Only three times in ten years?
Jeez, what a noob.
LoL
I last moved a year and a half ago. I'm about to again in about a month.
Check my location here... LoL

You have some kind of moving fetish?

How do you handle the stress, let alone the expense, of moving so frequently? Just the thought of packing up all my sh!t is making me nauseous.

I have a friend that used to be like that. I think he once moved 3 times in one year. There's something about it, I guess. I'm with you though. The stress of having to pack is too much for me. I had to do it recently for renovations going on at my place and it was awful. I'm not even 1/3rd of the way done either.

I'm intrigued..are you in the military? What do you do for a living,if you don't mind me asking? I've always been entertained by a "nomadic" lifestyle, even going as far as looking up trucking schools to be a OTR Driver once or twice. I usually stay in one place for at least 5yrs, biggest move I've ever made was from NY to KY exactly one year ago and that was definitely the most stressful. It's nice here but I'll be surprised if I make it 5yrs here, we're looking at South Carolina as our next destination

It's a long story. I'll have to type it up later on.
I'll have to do it on the computer, not the phone.

University, Hunkpapa, and Red Heaven are all very good. Kristen Hersh has a new band now called 50 Foot Wave that I'll have to check out.

I just wrote the most depressing thing:

If I Die Tonight

Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me what would you say
Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me it would be this way

I’ve got so much
To be happy for
But I’ve got so much
To pull me down
Take these pills
And watch me drown
Just sleep a little longer
Just tune out the noise
Tired of everything all at once
Still love my boys

Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me what would you say
Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me it would be this way

I think I’ve stayed too long
Nothing I do can get me through
Tired of the same old song
I’m too despondent
And I’m too depressed
I’ve got another date
And I’m super stressed
Would like to try and sleep
If I could tune out the noise
Take a little breather
Still love me boys

Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me what would you say
Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me it will be this way

A Japanese Janice
Nails going down my chalk board
I’m not sure how much more of this
I can afford

Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me what would you say
Maybe it will be alright
Maybe it will be ok
If I die tonight
Tell me it would be this way
Tell me it will be this way
Tell me it would be this way
Tell me
