People kept wishing me a Happy Father's Day even though I have no kids.

I guess I should take that as a compliment. That means I still have the good looks that make people assume I have a bunch of kids

On a serious note, I would never wish someone a Happy anything unless I know fer sure they have kids. It's a bit awkward if they don't

Job I interviewed for today told me they will give me an $800 signing bonus after 90 days on the job.

Would take a slight pay decrease from my current M-F job of $12.60 to $12.50 at this new job but the signing bonus definitely helps. As does the fact that the clients I would be serving live down the street from me so I would be saving a lot of gas and time. Not to mention being a DSP is a much better job in my eyes than quality control at the local tent company.

Brace yourself, I take you on a trip down memory lane
This is not a rap on how I'm slinging crack or move cocaine
This is cul-de-sac and plenty cognac and major pain
Not the drill sergeant but the stress that weighin on your brain

I watched 2018's A Star Is Born for the first time tonight and now I'm using my PS4 to watch some trailers and play some music. Den Of Thieves has a good trailer but the song MAAD City by Kendrick Lamar kills it...in a good way. So that's on my mind and then the fact that it's after 1:30am. I had no idea it was so late.

I just received the bill for the summer camp my daughter wants to go to. Holy sh*t I thought the outstanding balance was their phone number. Pretty sure I could get round trip airline tickets for her to fly down here for the summer A LOT cheaper.

I VHS copy of Back To The Future sold for $75,000 at auction the other day. Hopefully the winner's player doesn't eat the tape the first time they try to watch it.

I went to school to get a bachelor's in Family and Child Science. I did that to become a case worker at some point and maybe go to graduate school to become a therapist. Direct Support Personnel is adjacent but not why I attended school. It's still close enough that I enjoy it more than my current M-F job and also I'm guessing that it's close enough that the experience will eventually add up to the point I start getting job offers for case work jobs. I've been at my current M-F job for over 6 months now and they still haven't brought me on as a regular employee. They said almost 3 weeks ago that in 2 weeks they would hire people and they still haven't done it.

I don't like that work (it still beats food service) but maybe giving 2 weeks' notice will finally get them to hire me, which would lead to benefits and a bump in pay to $14.50 an hour.

I wouldn't do that. I even intend to stay at my weekend DSP job as long as I can, both because it looks better on my resume if I stay longer and because they were the first ones to give me a real behavioral health services job.

That's cool. Oftentimes the hardest part is just getting your foot in the door but once you have relevant work experience, it makes finding the next best fit a bit easier.

Yeah after you graduate, you apply to jobs with your degree but everyone wants people with a degree and experience. So getting a job is more difficult than most graduates expect. Probably why so many graduates are working in a field they went to school for. So you either have to know someone who can get you a job or you have to wait till you have to take a (probably) job you normally wouldn't take so eventually you can get a job you would enjoy.

I was looking at my Blu-rays of my collection here on the site and I realize the UHDs were added to them.

Am I misremembering or wasn't it just the regular Blu-rays that was only in that section?

Holy crap are the prices for fireworks this year insane. I saw on the news that they were going up an average of 38% this year. I just went down to the stand a mile from my house and you would think the black cats are incased in 24 karat gold.

I'm not sure the last time I bought or set off fireworks.

I’m getting my money’s worth out of Elden Ring. Killed at least 55 bosses so far. Not close to completing the game, yet. Damn..........
