Oh yeah, what's on my mind? I got a haircut today at a salon and I got my first facial afterward. I have never pulled any moves on a woman while she was cutting my hair but that would be hot. Both of the women working at the salon were hot in a middle-aged way (like me)

My 35th birthday is coming up next weekend and I have zero plans. It's actually pretty sad, but I haven't properly celebrated my birthday since I was a child. Even more surprising is I wasn't expected to live this long in the first place.

That does sound great. The challenge I find now for myself when eating any kind of Italian or Mediterranean food is declining the deserts. Someone will offer Italian cream cake, cannoli (if it has pistachios it's even harder to resist), or Tiramisu and I politely decline, holding up my glass of wine and say "this is my desert".

Since I began to get into different wines and food pairings, sweets fell off my radar in favor of a bottle of Merlot, Cab, or Pinot to go along with my meal. Doesn't matter if it's a home cooked pasta dish, takeout from a Mom and Pop Italian restaurant or simply picking up a pizza, I always have a bottle of red on standby now.

In many ways it's served me well by cutting out all those refined sugars.
Then again, I also suspect the red wine could be fueling alcoholism.

Birthday parties were the best in childhood and early adulthood.
This is a realization that most of my friends and I are coming to terms with now as well.
Not just because everybody had the time to spare with fewer responsibilities, but it also didn't cost as much to have a good time and be accommodating for the guests. All it took was a group text to let folks know we're meeting at a bar/club and afterparty at so and so's house, done.
Now, it requires quite a bit more planning and budgeting, the invite needs to be sent out at least a month in advance and instead of the bar/club, it's usually another destination like a rented property.

These days, I still have a few of my closest friends who are able to throw large parties, where 15 to 20+ people show up and enjoy themselves.
But in order for them to successfully do that, they have to spend anywhere from $500-1k of their own money to make it happen.
They're renting a beach house or rooms at a hotel/casino, buying boxes of booze and providing all of the food, and making it more of a getaway event for everybody.

If it's not one thing, it's another, eh? I've cut back from a lot of dessert, but that tiramisu looked too damn good to say "no". (It was delicious, by the way.) I was pretty happy with myself for all but eliminating sugary drinks. Except for breakfast (it's impossible to eliminate milk and oj), the only things I drink are water or flavored water (Bubly, for example). I will never die...

That does sound good. Speaking of buffet style places, there used to be a Sweet Tomatoes in the same plaza and while I'm not a big salad guy, they had plenty of other stuff that I enjoyed and I probably would have eaten there had then still been around. COVID closed them down unfortunately. Would like to get back to Golden Corral and see how they're doing it post pandemic.

Imo I would rethink it and add order stations at the table and just have the food in the back and have servers just bring it out. Of course, it does limit the whole pick yourself a meal ordeal, but you can essentially try and recreate those feelings on a display screen. Would maybe help with overhead too with kind of nearly making things to order and not putting out 25 different things when only half are mainly picked.
