I am thinking of putting out a sign stating any kid dressed as a princess or Spider-Man don't get candy due to unoriginality.

I don't know what the protocol is for answering the door for trick or treaters at a client's house tonight. Imagine I will find out shortly.

Watched another Not Just Bikes video and realized one of the biggest reasons Americans are so fat (3/4 are overweight). Because of their very segmented zoning laws. In more mixed use zoning, you can walk for groceries and be home within twenty minutes, possibly shorter depending on what you need. But because Americans have to drive miles to the designated shopping districts, they buy more in bulk, shit they don't need. Then they eat more, faster.

Making progress with Dark Souls 3 NG+3. Beating the more difficult bosses in the DLC. I still get nervous playing this game.

I need to pace myself and lower my expectations.

Whereabouts if you don't mind me asking? I always wanted to go to Germany during Oktoberfest, and my late wife always had an aspiration to backpack over there.

I've had a head cold the last couple days, I was talking to a old friend who went on a random tangent about all these vitamen/wellness products Walgreens sells. It got me thinking I honestly don't know the last time I stepped foot in an actual drug store. Its so much easier and probably cheaper to just pick up odds n ends from big box stores since I'm likely already there vs making another stop. So I beg the question, what keeps CVS and Walgreens in business today?

Hands down the elderly. It's like 90% of their business.

I've got the out-laws coming into town for the first time since their daughter and I have been in the "new" house (2.5 years later) and they are a hot mess. Two adults are traveling with ONE duffel bag. I mean, granted, we have everything here toiletry-wise and such, but I've never heard of such a thing. Then my wife tells them to be sure to check-in today and they CALL United and wait on the phone for 40 minutes trying to do so instead of doing so online. And these are not older/elderly folks mind you. My father-in-law works in IT for a major bank for goodness sake. My FiL is cool, but my MiL has put in a bunch of requests for some of my wife's cooking/recipes and beverages (she refuses to be anywhere near garlic and for someone who is 100 lbs. soaking wet with a sweater on, has requested SIX bottles of wine for THREE days...oh and champagne as well). This is all for someone (her Mom) that feeds us pizza and food via delivery when we go up north. It's just mind-blowing.

Only 3 days? One duffel bag doesn't sound too far fetched. My late wife and I used to travel for weeks at a time with only basic backpacks. I still do as a matter of fact.

The 6 bottles of wine and champagne (seriously? are you guys celebrating something special or is she just an alcoholic?) on the other hand...yeah I'd tell them they can buy their own upon arrival or pound sand.

Nonetheless, try to enjoy the visit with family, just remain calm and tell yourself they're only going to be there for 3 days.

Well I have to renew my passport anyway as it expired a couple months ago I think. This will be my first time renewing it.

I'm not sure yet. I was planning to make my third trip back in 2017 and it was down to Norway, Sweden, the UK or Czech Republic. I'm not sure which country I would have gone with. Now, I'm thinking about Slovenia as I have an online friend who I've known for 14 years and it would be great to meet her someday. I would love to get to every European country someday.

I was actually in Germany for Oktoberfest seven years ago. I don't drink at all so that's not why I went and while it was going on around me, the only cold beverages that I enjoyed were soda. Free refills aren't common in Europe so that would kind of be a deal breaker for me if I ever considered moving there I was up North in Berlin during Oktoberfest and saw some markets but I believe Oktoberfest is celebrated more down South, specifically in the State of Bavaria.

I will add that if I had to choose a place to go to right now, maybe I'd go Italy. I've only been to Europe twice but I prefer to keep it movin' on my vacations. I'm not really the type to check into a place and just lounge around and stay in one place (town/city/region) but I think the idea of renting a nice little place in Tuscany or somewhere in Spain and just doing day trips from one central base, would be really nice. I'd be chillin' in Tuscany George Clooney in The American style...minus all the assassinations of course
