That’s fine, we’re all curious about stuff, which is why I was seeking out non-clinical feedback here. The trick is to not worry too much about why other people do things a certain way. There’s no harm in wanting to engage conversation-style. Otherwise many of these forums wouldn’t be necessary

2. There's no trick involved. I can ask what I want. This particular question of yours will offer no clinical feedback or start a conversation. There's only one answer. Sheetrock and drywall are the same thing. Last edited by Hitman Horton; 02-27-2023 at 07:31 AM. |

I never found your question irritating. Just lazy. You could have easily answered this yourself with a Google search..and that's my point.

It's kind of like when you hear someone say "Can you make a xerox of this document for me?" What's the difference between a xerox and a copy? Xerox is a company that makes copy machines. Sheetrock and drywall have become interchangeable terms. |

I'd like to think that a community is a positive one with people helping one another out, not one where it feels like you're being put off from posting. I follow and listen to advice from family and friends (I know I haven't listened to advice from family and friends sometimes, and I can be annoying. But no one is perfect, and I do appreciate the helpful advice). I try my best to ignore any problems from people who seem to be negative for the sake of it.
I try to focus on the positive things which I enjoy and do in life, to combat the negativity. My mind can be it's own worst enemy, but the negativity outside of that has to be combated too. It can be difficult switching off from it, especially during rough periods. It's been a rough period for the majority of the year so far for me, and on here during the later part of last week was a good example. I wonder sometimes whether the people who cause the negativity realise what they're doing, or are completely oblivious to it. When I hear some twisted logic being used to justify bullying (you learn how to defend yourself in life after being bullied), I find it unbelievable. Bullying shouldn't happen full stop. I'd like to think that there are more good people than negative people, including on here. You just have to focus on the good things, including the people you get on with, and doing your best to ignore those who create bad days and periods. Last edited by OceanBlue; 02-27-2023 at 10:21 PM. One reason I like to ask a question on a message boards as opposed to using Google is that the answer you get might inspire other questions. And I think it's always nice to ask a question in a community that you're familiar with and I know that if someone asks a question that I know an answer to (which isn't very often), I'm usually happy to help them out.

EDIT: To add to this, if I'm looking for information I try to find it for myself. If I can't find it (which is extremely rare) then I'd probably reach out to others for assistance. I'd never post anything anywhere before trying to find it myself. Last edited by Hitman Horton; 02-28-2023 at 12:19 PM. |

How many of you still have Cable TV? I'm contemplating cutting the cord myself, I can't pick up a signal with an OTA antenna in this apartment (though honestly I may not even be here much longer anyway so this is a moot point) so cable's my only option for local TV but the prices on local broadcast channels alone keeps going up, I'm kinda sick of spending ~$160(and climbing every month it seems) for TV and Internet and only watching reruns on 2 or 3 channels. Without the bundle, my internet bill will be like $75/mo which is still insane but a little better. I feel like I could probably stream stuff from local affiliates of CBS, ABC, Fox, etc for free I believe. College Football and MLB are the real reasons I still have cable but honestly I'm not really as big of sports fan as I used to be and for the rare games I want to watch I could always catch it at a sports bar or the gym.

What I would suggest you do is look into live streaming TV like Sling or YouTube TV. YouTube TV is a little pricey with their regular price of $65 a month. With Sling you can choose from two packages or combine them both. There's other services like Fubo and Frndly so I would definitely look into what is out there so you can pick and choose what you prefer. Many services with different channels and prices. Also, there's no equipment to install. You just subscribe and unsubscribe whenever you want with total freedom. I used to subscribe to DirecTV Now but cancelled that service after I realized I wasn't really watching much to begin with. |

If you would have told me that you're a diehard sports fan who absolutely must see every single game blah blah blah...then we would have an issue. But, you're not, and we don't. It sounds counterintuitive, but when you limit your options, you have better options. Instead of being a slave to the cable monster, where you're paying a grand a year to watch like .5% of its offerings, drop it altogether and go OTA (where the quality is usually better, anyway) for free. You'll find that the things you really want to watch, you'll still find a way to watch them. You may also find that you are watching less passively, too, with less channel surfing. Redbox and your local library are solid options. Your local library's catalogue of available films will probably surprise you, especially if they offer inter-library loans which pull from many individual branches across many counties. If you plan it right, and chart out a wish list for a particular streaming service, you can subscribe for a month or two and plow through said list. Maybe subscribe to Netflix for a month in the summer, get your fill, and then cancel....and go on to make it a Disney+ December later in the year, etc. etc.. Those reruns you were watching on cable? Hey, if you really liked the show(s), go ahead and buy them on dvd/blu, watch them and then either keep them or sell them back on eBay to recoup most of the cost and make it a short-term rental. All of these options, even together, are still way cheaper than paying for cable tv that you hardly ever use. |

there i was at Goodwill found look up and saw over 20 30 scooby doo movies on DVD .99 each i grabbed all of them. then get a buggy, and then start checking for scratches. every single disc was heavilly scratched. so i was pretty bumed. they even had the 1 with the Boo Brothers. so disappointed. but i did find 3 Blu Rays and a couple of Kentucky Wildcat drinking glasses with santa claus on them. they been there all month so i figured i go on and get them. but i really wanted those Scooby Doo movies.

I went from Directv to Sling TV for a few years, until Sling dropped regional sports networks, which was the primary reason I even got Sling in the first place. Dropped Sling TV. If you want news or movies or TV shows on in the background, all of the FAST services like Pluto TV, Tubi, Freevee, Roku Channel, etc. have become remarkably similar to cable. Most local channels you can pick up with a Roku or Apple TV or sometimes your TV's software. Lately I've been cutting back on the number of streaming services or considering switching to the ad-supported versions. |

Thanks guys for all your input. Yeah, for the most part the TV is just on in the background 95% of the time. I'm usually scrolling Instagram or watching something on YouTube. I already have Netflix and Paramount+, plus my growing DVD/BD TV and Movie collection I definitely have more than I'll ever watch. The biggest thing for me was as I mentioned college football and MLB season, as well as current events (local/world news) since I can't get OTA here - but the latter isn't high on my priority list since I can get that for free online.

I also take restasis for dry eyes. Waiting for this lazy eBay seller to accept my return or try to come to a solution. If the idiot actually packaged it properly we wouldn't be in this mess. eBay isn't "stepping in" until the 9th. I would take a partial refund I guess but the dude is MIA. |

I briefly met this really cute girl at Starbucks who was making my drink. We chatted just a little bit and I mentioned getting some cookies at Trader Joes before I came over and showed her and she mentioned possibly going there to get some after work. As I was sitting in my car getting ready to leave, I thought of going back in and giving her my pack and saying she can tell me how she liked them the next time I saw her but I was too lazy to get out and go back in
