Much prefer New England. I never knew what Manhattan Clam Chowder was until I had it for the first time a couple years ago. I didn't know that it was made with tomato broth. I was ready for my clam chowder already but when the girl told me that they didn't have it today, I started hella craving it.

I ended up doing just about diddly squat after eating. I'm back home now and will probably start a movie pretty soon (close to 4pm here) as I have to get up early to start work at 2am tomorrow. I should be off Tuesday so I'm going to try and go for another bike ride tomorrow after work and then on my day off.

I just purchased two air conditioners and had them installed. Looking at the 5 day forecast it looks like it'll remain relatively cool, which continues the pattern of below normal temps this Spring. We've only had a couple of days or so of insufferable heat but those were freaks of nature so to speak. I actually like cool weather so I won't mind if this Summer turns out to be cool and overcast. I guess I'm glad I proactively bought the A/Cs "just in case" lol.

Actually, we’re in a drought in the northeast. The spring has actually been dry and warm, like the winter.

Where in the NE are you located? I'm in NYC. The other day I woke up to 39 degrees, which, for mid to late May, could be considered highly unusual. It's almost June and the forecast highs are barely reaching the mid 70's. But watch it suddenly turn to Summer so I'm probably just overthinking it lol.

I was lazy and kept my AC in the window all winter. I had a nice split system but the house was struck by lightning and the insurance would not pay for a new one which was BS.

It’s a pita to move and install the big window units. Have yet to crank it on this year. Definitely been cooler which is nice but I’m sure a heat wave is right around the corner.

LI. 25 days above normal in January, 15 in February and five normal, 15 in March and 19 in April, according to Accuweather. Actually, so far this month, ten days above normal with three more forecasted.

So May sucks and March was barely adequate, but January, April and February were nice and warm, in that order relative to normal. And it was 43 for a low the other day (5-18), not 39, according to Accuweather.

All LI and NYC.

Watching the guy installing it, it looked fairly simple except it really isn't. I'm really worried about this thing falling out of the window. My landlord doesn't allowing drilling into the brickwork (in case I needed a bracket) so I used an actual brick for support. Still, gravity may do its job someday lol.

I live in North Jersey and it got down to 39. I work in Manhattan. I'm still in the NYC area even in North Jersey.

Exactly! It looks simple but it’s not so easy especially if you don’t have a window designed for a unit. I have to add shims to get it leveled out along with styrofoam and tape to fill the gaps. I sure do miss my split system. It also had a heat pump which was nice to warm up the house on a fall day.

I like the quick efficient install by Kramer; the guy knows how to operate fast and simple.
No sweat, the place will run kool.

I didn't get the assistant supervisor position. I didn't really want it other than the paycheck. I love what I do and after seeing the way people have acted the last 2 weeks and now that our supervisor is on vacation. Nope. Screw that. I still make a decent check and people are still coming to me for advice from other departments. That's fine. We have a new plant manager and I am going to be busy with that and training someone to get to my level of knowledge starting next week. In about 8 years they may get to where I am at. That's how long I have been there.

Sorry you didn’t get it. It’s not easy to continue working for a company once you’ve been passed over. Hopefully another position will pop up that you’ll be better suited for and can finally get that bump in pay.
