Yeah it always tells you what a company thinks of you when they refuse to move you up

Last night I woke up shivering, which started to get progressively worse until I stuck my hands in hot running water and threw a hoodie on and wore it to bed. I had the A/C and a fan on, which I always do year round, without issues so that wasn't the cause. Anyone else experience this?

This morning I went to the store and found some fresh strawberries that were huge and tasty. Made my day.

The Ex and I voted yesterday in the Provincial Election and neither candidate that we voted for got in. The whole city went for the party that I'm not a fan of.
I am disappointed.

Thumbs up

My parents caved in and said yes to me buying another pair of Allen Edmonds shoes after I lose 20 to 30 pounds.

Had to go to another city, one more rural and seemingly spread apart than mine, to get my root canal checked. The doctor said he was 85 percent sure he could save the tooth. Will only cost 90 dollars to clean the roots with my insurance. I'm relieved that it won't need to be pulled. He asked me where I'm from, which I am starting to think is something dentists and such are taught in school. He said that he heard Germany is prettier. I didn't really respond. Could have told him that there is more of a balance between car infrastructure, public transportation and walking and that car infrastructure is inherently ugly. They had sixty parking spots around the building and not one bike rack. Typical. Funny thing about his attempt at rapport was that as I rode my bike to his building on five or six miles of stroad from the intercity train station, I saw that the whole western mountain range was mined to shit.

Looked like this, except I think it was the whole horizon, of a city where people have to live and see it all the time. They will do anything for industry (including, of course, let the great lake go dry).

I am glad that the thunderstorms are over for now.
Our FurBrat was freaked and we had to reassure him often.
One more day of this, I think, and then hopefully not for a while again.

I had been painting the walls in some of the rooms in the house yesterday so I left some windows open. The neighbor across the street range my doorbell at 10:30 PM with his AR-15 in his hands because of all the screaming coming from my house. I was watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre II.

It's supposed to be 90 degrees today and someone at work is wearing a wool Winter hat - indoors! People are so weird. Sometimes I wonder if there's a handbook people refer to when deciding what to wear. "OK, the hipsters are doing this now: warm weather, dress up like it's December. If you wear a blue suit, you MUST wear tan shoes!"

I feel the same when it's January and 25 degrees outside and someone comes into work in shorts and flip-flops. Gives me frostbite just to look at.

I cranked the air purifier and the dehumidifier and it seems to be helping my allergies. My eyes are no longer gummy and I am not constantly coughing.

I still despise TikTok with the intensity of a thousand suns. My gf watches it almost constantly, and it’s always just loud enough that it distracts me from reading; it makes watching something else in the room (television, tablet, etc) just about impossible. Aside from that, she’ll set up something to stream on the television (always something I have zero interest in), and then she’ll pause the program to watch TikTok. Meanwhile, the paused picture burns into the screen.

I have been retired for over ten years, and I am quite set in my ways. She retired at the onset of covid, and my life has been in a state of extreme disarray ever since.

The way you were describing her, I thought she was a 20 yo.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to create a man cave for yourself where you can be left alone to enjoy what YOU want to watch on your own time. If it were me, my gf can tik tok herself into a coma and I wouldn't care lol. Thank goodness I had the foresight to stay single.
