I ended up going with Les Miserables which I hadn't seen since watching it in the theater. I paused it to take a quick nap and just stayed asleep. It's hard watching a movie in the early evening when I've been up since 3am or so. I don't remember having as much trouble 10 years ago.

I've been thinking about getting a tent. I've been up to the mountains three times this year and I've slept in the car each time. I've spent the night in this particular spot each time I've gone up. These pictures are from April when the road I was traveling on was closed a short distance ahead because of snow.

^ Wouldn't it be wiser to tread those roads in a 4 wheel drive SUV or jeep? I wouldn't feel safe in a regular car

My car is AWD but it wasn't needed on this trip. The roads were plowed so no issues there. Where I parked was about 45 feet off the highway. I was worried that I could possibly get snowed in but as you can see, the snowfall during the night wasn't too heavy. I easily drove right out back up to the road. The road was closed about 6 miles ahead. The highway finally opened up in June, a little later this year due to all of the snow they got.

Well. Turns out I have Covid. Again. Someone at work spreading the love. Did not realize it the other day I thought it was just a cold. My blood pressure took a nasty nose dive. Better now. So I took the rest of the week off. Stuffy nose, coughing, shortness of breath at times. Next week my department is shut down for week long maintenance. Sooo 2 weeks off. I don't know whether to be happy or angry. Both.

Started my "Chucky" marathon last night with Childs Play. Had trouble enjoying it because I felt like crap. I wanted Chucky to kill everyone. Is that bad?

I get a daily newspaper, not to read and agree with what the columnists say, but mainly for the selection of puzzles. Keeps the brain ticking over (which I'd rather do, compared to being out directly under the sun). Can't do all of the puzzles (the larger general knowledge puzzles they do in the weekend edition and on UK public holidays you need a university degree to get some of the clues

Even though autumn/fall doesn't officially start until just over a week's time, have had my first pumpkin spice latte of this year today. The flavour takes some getting used to, but once you do get used to it..delicious (love that mix of sweet and spicy). Gets you in the mood for autumn/fall.

For the majority of today it's remained humid and muggy, but with lower temperatures. Tonight certainly feels different (cool with a slight hint of cold). Plenty of rain since the early hours of today (the fine stuff with the odd bit of heavy rain).

On a separate note, one of favourite long music singles the radio station played today, and (to my non-surprise) it was the shorter version, American Pie by Don McLean.

Cold symptoms clearing up from covid. Still sleeping a lot. Steeped outside this morning for the first time since Friday to take out the trash. It was 4am and no one was around.

While working I think how nice it would be to take a week and just sleep and watch movies. When it actually can happen I sleep so much more. Up to 14 hours a day/night. I am on my 7th movie though in between watching some other stuff.

Debating what to eat. More soup, more left over chili, eggs? Are the eggs expired? Gotta check.

Always wanted to see that epic Napoleon film. It’s like 6 hours long. Be nice to get a US release. I feel like it would be a great candidate for a Criterion release. Perhaps the Scott film will reignite the interest?

The definitive version (May 1927) is 562 minutes long (9 hours and 22 minutes)
That would require four BD-100 discs (4K UHD HDR Dolby Vision/Atmos) for top-notch visuals and music score. Criterion Collection would do justice.
