This may explain why on-and-off since I've visited the forum tonight, thread pages have taken longer to download/appear than normal.

Yup…agreed. I’ve been experiencing slow load times as well.

It still says about 20k which is unusual considering it’s not even Black Friday.

FB messaging with a fellow movie lover who's in Norway. I mentioned Jason Isaacs' brilliant performance in The Patriot and he doesn't remember him. All I can say

Not only that but you're not trapped on this planet for the next four decades with those people because you had the misfortune of also being born a "Zoomer".

Issacs was such a great villain in The Patriot.

Some random thoughts:

- I'm eternally grateful my wife isn't a nerd.
- September is almost over, and the forecast says temperatures will be in the lower 90s all week. I would love for the temperature to be in the lower 70s. I wish we could afford to live in San Diego.
- Almost all of the posts on this site are filled with cynicism and anger. Relax, kids. High blood pressure is no laughing matter.
- I sure am ready for hockey season!!!

Growing up I always wrote the year as just 2 digits now you need to fill out 4 digits for everything. That was before computers were wide spread and I remember filling out forms and the 19 part was already filled out. When people at places like the doctors office ask my birthday I just say 71 instead of 1971. Doesn't seem to phase anyone yet.

Oklahoma, so there's no desert. Lots of trees, lots of grass, and lots of heat/humidity until about the second week of October. I'm used to it, but I'm not fond of it. It's worse for my better half, though. She was born and raised in Bavaria, and I don't think she'll ever adjust to the weather here.

1 of 2 orders arrived yesterday. UPS even uploaded a photo of the delivered item. I got to see the box and also my new door mat in the pic. So cool!

Everyone sounds good but Snoop soundin really smooth.

Ayo, steppin' through the fog and creepin' through the smog
It's the number one ***** from the hood, Doggy Dogg
Making videos, now I stay in Hollywood
Bustin' raps for my snaps, now they call me Eastwood
...
And I'm still serving for mine
Peace to my mother****in' homies doing time
In the pen and the county jail
Mobbin' with your blues on, mad as hell
And you're sayin', "**** the police"
And all the homies on the streets is all about peace
And it's driving the cops crazy
But ain't nothin' but a black thing, baby

Pretty much my experience as well. Seems a lot better today but that’s because the traffic is down.

Can someone explain to me why forgiving all of this student debt is so important? I know unemployment is low and the Covid situation is not what it was (which was the purpose to suspend the payments).

I graduated from college 30 years ago. I had to pay for all of my college myself. No help from my parents. I joined the Army and received some money from their College Fund, worked 2 jobs, moved back home and kept my spending down just to pay off my debt that I promised to pay.

Is it soo hard for graduates now that they NEED total or even partial forgiveness? I know unemployment is low. Also, not everyone finds a good paying job after graduating (like myself).....so you work 2 jobs to get it done.

In light of all this, I have taught my son to learn a trade in high school. He will end up with a good paying job after graduating with NO student debt for the win. IMO, college is overrated and I wish I learned a trade myself in high school.
