I was initially interested in seeing Smile, The Black Phone and The Jester. I don't normally read and listen to reviews (I prefer to judge for myself whether a film is good or not), but in the case of The Black Phone I was put off from the reviews (very mixed). Smile has had very good word of mouth, but I'm in no rush to see it. The Jester, I think was released in some UK cinemas last Friday, but I think it's a limited cinema release (the UK Blu-ray is out in January).

Not criticising the film Terrifier (and it and it's sequel's popularity), but I watched some of it from a television screening last year, and I did not like it at all.

Have only been to the local cinema once this year (to a screening of the original Grease (hadn't seen it in full before that). Going to see a festive film next month. Like others have said, the prices have gone up with a lot of things, and cinema tickets have shot up in price. That is one of the reasons why I haven't gone to the cinema this year (one of the other reasons being that there were some films celebrating anniversaries this year I was expecting to see get screenings, but they haven't).

I should have bought soda today. I have like one swig left of some V8 fruit (as opposed to vegetable) juice and over a half-gallon jug of water but that's it. And I LOVE soda but I decided not to get any today when I was at Target. Just figured I'd get it another day this week. But now I want soda damn it!

Also, there's this woman that I see on the last bus of the night. From Mexico I think...probably in her 50s or so. She commutes to Palo Alto from San Jose and that's not a far trip but with public transportation, she probably adds at least 3 hours to her 8.5 hour workday. She gets off at 1:30am and she gets home a little after 3am. We get off at the same stop when she's going home and I'm going to work

So I'm thinking about offering her a ride up or back one day just to try and make things a little easier for her. It wouldn't be on a regular basis and if I do, it may only be one time, but I'd like to help. This morning I walked her to her street which is maybe a quarter mile to half mile from the bus stop. While I've never had any negative encounters, 3am in San Jose could be unpredictable.

So anyway, those thoughts are on my mind. Also, I was on the bus on the way home and there was this Indian guy who I thought kind of resembled Messi. We chatted for a bit and he seemed like a real nice guy. Assuming he's from India and kind of wish I had asked him if he had FB so we could keep in touch. Seemed like a good dude.

I hope you found the owner to tell him that he parks like a jackass

Actually, I saw a truck that was parked badly on Saturday. It was a diagonal parking space where he was taking up a bit of the space in front of him. I checked the truck to make sure there were no Veteran stickers on it and then I left him a note that said "Fantastic parking shithead" or something like that lol I ate my meal at Chilis and when I left, the truck was still there. I took the note off the windshield because while I was eating, I thought about how it could have belonged to an older person or perhaps someone who was disabled.

LOL. I’ll give the dude a pass considering how rare the car is but it is funny when you consider that Sam’s Club parking lots typically have those wider parking spaces.

So a friend of mine is moving and selling a lot of his furniture. He wants $350 for this power recliner. It is nice but he’s got cats and if you zoom in on the armrests they’re all punctured. Not sure if I’ll take it or not.

Thoughts? I do like the cupholders. Both armrests open up for storage and there is a USB input for charging devices.

The punctures will make the leather more breathable so your sweatyass ain't slidin all over the place on those hot, humid days of summer

On another note, I saw a guy on the bus this morning double masked and gloved. Felt sorry for him. There are still people terrified of taking those things off in public. No one told them the pandemic is over.
If a person has covid it's essential he/she wears a mask. Better yet to stay home.
Or someone could have a cold.

Not only does that car take the entire parking spot but when the door is open in cars pre mid 70's you need an additional 6 feet of space to open it.

I don't blame him for parking that way with a land yacht like that, but he should of parked further out because it will attract people who think he is the most terrible person in the world for parking like that and do actual damage to the car.

These were prescribed by an ompthemologist, I had read about the problems with some drops.

You're right; my two links referred to over-the-counter eye drops.

I did not know they were prescribed by your doctor.

Mind blown after all these 4K announcements.

We're getting both Avatar films in Dolby Vision- Disney is shite for not including it the first time.

Avatar 4K Steelbook-theatrical cut only.
Avatar Collector's Edition 4-disc set w/3 cuts of original film in 4K DV
Way of Water Collector's Edition 4-disc set

Abyss, True Lies, and Aliens.

I usually get an allergy steroid shot each August to help with my allergies. My doctor wouldn't give me one this year because I had Whooping Cough three times in the last five years and he was afraid anymore would cause me to become diabetic. The eye doctor finally relented and gave me a high dosage of oral stereoids and the steroid eye drops. That was only after she spent ten minutes on each eye with a scalpel scraping off this white stuff from the bottom of each eyeball. It was as unpleasant as it sounds.

Damn, I really want a toy. I'm 44 and a guy my age should have a toy. But I'm a broke motherf***** so no toys for me

From my time spent in the mountains this year, I've decided that I'd really love a sporty SxS and if not one of those (because of price), perhaps a more sporty quad or even a dirt bike. There aren't as many places here in the Bay Area where you can use ORV but San Jose does actually have a dirt bike park which is really cool.

But if I couldn't get something one of those three things, I think a little scooter to scoot around on would be fun. I suppose it would be more fun if I was vacationing for the summer in Tuscany or putting around Rome but I think I'd enjoy having a scooter here. But it'd have to be one that says, this is my little toy for fun and putting around, not this is the only vehicle that I have

Here's what I'd really like and you know, if I had just bought a used car and had money left over (put $25,000 down on my Mazda), I might have been able to get one

You could buy a pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue shoes, where you can special order soles more orthopedically friendly, if you medically require that. Such soles are $40 extra, which may or may not be waived during the Anniversary and Rediscover America sales.

But you have to buy first quality shoes, which are perfect from the factory, to special order non-standard soles. First quality Park Avenues currently retail for $395, with a possible increase to $425 on Monday, 4-15-2024.

If you don’t need more orthopedic friendly shoes, these first quality Allen Edmonds shoes can be had for a discount price of $295 to $340 during the sales, possibly increased to $315 to $365 next April. The factory seconds Allen Edmonds Park Avenue shoes, which have a few minor blemishes that few, if any, other than you will notice, retail for $316, possibly increased to $340 on the date mentioned above. The discount price will be $235 to $270, possibly increased to $255 to $290 next April.

The first quality pair is easy to find. The Los Angeles metropolitan area has several Allen Edmonds flagship stores.

The factory seconds, however, can only be purchased at Allen Edmonds shoe bank stores. The shoe banks are only for store purchases in Wisconsin near Port Washington and online only otherwise.

AE has a 60 day return policy for all online and store purchases.
