I like video games but rarely play any. I got an Xbox one four or five years ago and have probably played it 20 times or so.

Today I saw the series x new for just over $200. I feel like I'm doing wrong if I don't get it since it's such a good deal but realistically would I play it any more than the system I have or would it mostly collect dust?

I think this is called fear of missing out. I don't know what to do.

Got the exact same problem, I bought the Series X and PS5, and PSVR2 because I’m an adult and I could lol, but I never quite get around to playing them. I finished Ghost of Tsushima on PS5, played around with VR, that’s it. Haven’t even played a whole game on the Xbox.

Never selling them though, I always regret getting rid of a console. Keep hoping I’ll find the time.. maybe once my interest in sex finally goes away.

Thanks for helping me overcome fear of missing out. I will just play the Xbox one I already have. I bought 8 games with it and some are still in the wrapper.

When you put the effort into keeping various threads updated and starting threads (and in the case of some threads starting with a long post, taking your time to get them done right), it can sometimes be soul destroying when you get unhelpful replies. I'm not the only one who has noticed this, that you have to be alert in case your post hasn't been worded properly and there is a loophole where someone can criticise you. It's an unhelpful jolt which knocks you off the path you want to be on for a while. Focusing your mind on the positives and friends really puts things into perspective and knocks the negatives out of touch.

Not forgetting about those who for some reason when posting or quoting large to very large images don't use spoiler tags.

At times you get the impression in life that you should be bullied in life to learn how to defend yourself, which I think is rubbish. You shouldn't be bullied, full-stop.

I just made another optomitrist appointment for next week. This will be the third time I will have to get a new prescription this year. I see shadows underneath everything and it is really bad on the TV screen. I tried watching Blade Runner the other night and the white credits and crawl at the beginning was a jumble mess. Being old sucks.

As someone with bad eyes, optometrists just simply ask you if you can see better or worse as they tweak your prescription. I would try to get a referral to see an ophthalmologist as they can probably diagnose you better.

So I’ve been going crazy waiting for a package in the good ‘ol USPS network. It finally scanned in less than two hours away today in NJ. I thought maybe I’ll get it tomorrow. Well I just looked at the tracking again and they sent it to Boston! WTF are they doing. I’ll be lucky if I get it by Wednesday at this point.

Thinking about what I will get my mom and stepdad for Christmas. I'll get them a card and send that of course but I'd like to get them a gift as well. There is a privately-owned island called Sea Island not too far from where they live and I just looked at lodging costs and yeah, not going to happen.

I'll try and come up with something like that though, something that they can do rather than just another nicknack for the house.

I just click on the big “New Thread” button in the left corner.

Wondering if I’ll get my packages today. Expecting something from DHL but the tracking info is confusing. Being delivered = I’m getting it today, but now it says ready for collection.

USPS is telling me one of my packages is available for pickup even though I have others out for delivery from Amazon. Pathetic that I’ll have to go into town to get it if that’s the case. It’s a movie..not a vacuum cleaner.

Edit: now even my Amazon packages show available for pickup. Lazy USPS workers!

This past weekend, I moved onto the next season of my re-watch of an older televsion series, which began with a feature-length episode. This viewing (of this episode) was the third (first time I saw it was from a television screening, with the second being the first time I watched my copy of the DVD release). Was watching it this time with fresh eyes and more wisdom. And I have to say, I enjoyed it more than the previous two viewings (thought the story was well written and filmed, with plenty of highlights).

A friend of mine who is also a fan of this older television series doesn't like the episode as much as I did from this third viewing (I realise (and understand) that other people may have a different opinion on something than me (and it would be the same vice-versa), but it took me by surprise the comments by the friend of mine. When you're quite enthusiastic about a film or television series, you think others will share the same enthusiasm. The world would be a boring place if everyone has the same opinions and/or interests (and if they have a different opinion or/and interest, it doesn't mean you have to change your opinion just to agree with them, or you have to lower your enthusiasm on something).

I have found out about films and television series I would not normally have looked at, even when they're from a genre/sub-genre that I would be interested in.

Default True crime documentary series

One of the true crime documentary series I've been watching recently, Nightmare Next Door, when the show comes back on after an ad break, the start of the piece of music they play (a music score) reminds me of Twin Peaks.

Enjoy is the wrong word to use with true crime shows, but one of the best of the ones I've been watching recently, has been Deadly Women (they have three cases per edition with a shared theme).

I did get my DHL package. It was turned over to USPS for some reason. Usually I get a yellow truck in the driveway. You don’t see many around. My copy of Knight Rider arrived in great shape from Germany…except for the discs! I’ll need to order some replacements. Just another day in the life of a collector!

Some changes to your diet may be needed. Ask your parents and your doctor for some help to bring your a1c down without more medication.

Question Wilhelm Gustloff / The Sinking of ||| Did you know?

_____

MV Wilhelm Gustloff

Quote:
MV Wilhelm Gustloff was a German military transport ship which was sunk on 30 January 1945 by Soviet submarine S-13 in the Baltic Sea while evacuating civilians and military personnel from East Prussia and the German-occupied Baltic states, and German military personnel from Gotenhafen (Gdynia) as the Red Army advanced. By one estimate, 9,400 people died, making it the largest loss of life in a single ship sinking in history.
The RMS Titanic in comparison, on 15 April 1912 ... Wiki

"Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died, making it the deadliest sinking of a single ship up to that time. It remains the deadliest peacetime sinking of an ocean liner or cruise ship."
