Is it just me or UPS tends to not update their package tracking after your shipment has been delivered?

Every UPS item that arrives is a day earlier than it's expected delivery date. Why can't UPS just scan the thing or whatever they do and put it in the truck for deliver on the same day like FedEX? Well, I'm not saying I want UPS to rush, but I don't want them to throw my package around like that video shown from last week.

Nothing on my mind, but I'm $150 closer to getting new tires as I found $50 just laying on the ground in Canadian Tire and I got a cheque from Ma Bell for $100 (some kind of rebate)... Sweet! Hopefully I'll get them this weekend, or next at the latest.

Getting them through Costco?

My daughter just had a blowout on her way home from work last night. Looking at her other tires, I decided to just replace all four. Thankfully, my brother-in-law works for Michelin, so he called up a local dealer he knows and got us a set of BFG G-Force Super Sports for cost plus labor. AND, we give him the receipt and he'll get us another 30% back using his employee purchase program deal. Still not "cheap", but it's a lot less painful than it could have been.

Rented a movie a week ago or so from Blockbuster, and was at the grocery so thought I'd hit up the Redbox, and both of the ones there were out of Hangover II, so I decided to pop into Blockbuster.

Looked like everything they had was there too. This is the first time I ever went into a liquidation type of sale where it wasn't already picked over.

All Blu-rays (and I mean ALL!) were $7.99

I didn't have time to "shop" so I just turned around and left

I would say that pine trees are good for energy efficiency, and block wind etc in the winter, but you guys don't have that problem down in retirementville

The Blizzaks are solid winter tyres from Bridgestone, so if you're looking to swap your current set for the season, they should handle the job well; BF Goodrich is better known for their summer offerings.

Can't you contest the charge in court? It's been a while since I've been in court for a speeding ticket (knock on wood ), but I've fought every ticket I've received because I don't want to deal with the alternative: insurance premium hikes.

you think that's bad? here's what i did the other week

btw car guys are gonna give me hell for this...

i got my oil changed and they said i had a slight oil leak, but to be safe add a quart or so once every week or so. i've never added oil to my car before.

i also didn't want them to fix it because the car is a 96 has 200+ miles on it and i'm getting a new one in April, so if i have to spend $30 on oil until then, fine. better than a $150+ repair (don't remember all they said as to why but anyway...)

so i buy a big 'ol 5 quart jug so i don't have a lot of little 1 quart bottles.

i check the dipstick, shows it's real low. i add some oil.

now, i think "there will be enough oil in the car when it fills up to the top" because like anything else i've filled - it's fulled when it's filled to the top and you can't add anymore. right?

very, very wrong

added all 5 quarts, already probably had like, 4 quarts in it (mind you i have a tiny ass 2-door "sports car" Saturn coupe) and when i started it i pretty much smoked out the block. i was in my apartment complex's parking lot surrounded by cars and in a matter of 15 seconds couldn't see any of them smoke just poured out my exhaust and from under my hood for about a good 15 minutes.

i was embarrassed but luckily it doesn't do it anymore

needless to say, i probably should have added some, and then checked the dipstick again. no idea why i didn't

That story really made me laugh....laugh with you, not at you! I've done that before as well.
