You'd start a movie this late? I forget where you are but it's at least 10pm there. I watched Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and started it before 6pm I think. I ended up taking a couple short naps while I was watching so it took me a bit longer than it should have.

Decided to go for today's 5 mile run right now, don't think it'd be good for the back tattoo I'm getting this afternoon if I were to run afterwards. Tomorrow would probably be fine but excessive sweating on a fresh tattoo is probably not a good idea. Plus all that shaking and bouncing. Also realized earlier today a back tattoo means I won't be lifting weights again till next Tuesday, oh well.

It’s wonderful and I think everyone should see as much of the world as they can, if they have the desire to do so.

Now, I just got an offer today with my bank (USAA) for a credit card and decided it was time to add another to increase my score. In a matter of 2 minutes (they already had all my info) I was approved for a $14,000 credit card with a 0% interest rate for the initial 12 months. Happy to say with the new card, I right now have about $25,000 to $30,000 credit available, but I have a $0 total balance on all of my cards....basically doubling my available credit. That should be a nice jump in my credit score! Last edited by Fors*; 07-26-2024 at 02:17 PM. |

Myself, with my credit card debt after college, I had to live with my parents for 10 years to pay it off. Why? because I also had student loans. Student loans I personally was on the hook for, even after spending 3 years in the Army after high school to get the GI College Fund because my parents could not afford to pay for college. So I made a choice and joined the Army to get some money for college. But even with that money, it still was not enough to pay for all of the tuition, room & board, etc....so I was 34 before I paid it all off and could finally afford to move out (with a roommate). Such is life. Then I met someone in my late 30's.....dated for 3 years, got married, had a house built and added new debt (no kids)...only to get divorced less than 1 year after marriage. Took that debt with me, but then met someone else less than 1 year after the divorce and we were married for 17 years, this time with 2 kids. Got divorced again and so I added even more debt with my 2nd marriage and had to pay child support on top of everything else. Had to move back in with my parents at age 53 so I could save money and payoff the debt again...which I did in 2 years. Did I mention I lost my job in those 2 years thru a merger? I had to find a new job, which I did within a month. Now, since last June, 2023, I have no debt, went ahead and bought another house, my son now lives with me (instead of with his mom for what was those 2 years), my daughter is now over 18 (so more more child support!) and I got a new job with my current employer. My point is.......life throws all kinds of crap at you, some you can control and some you can't. You make some bad choices and some good ones and deal with the consequences. But you always have a choice.......to either stay down or get back up......we all deal with personal hardships (some we can control, some we can't).....but you always have a choice to do something about it. |

THANK GOD!!! Movie night is on!!!

Everyone's got their own burdens and personal hardships. Most can navigate through that and overcome it. While some will struggle with navigating through and may not overcome it. Of course, they may overcome it as well. But the time it takes to overcome those obstacles may be MUCH longer than those without any extra health issues dragging the curve. I'm not trying to throw a pity party at all. At least that's not my intention. It's just one of the weeks that are harder to shake than others. I have my good weeks as well. And I have lots to be grateful for. This is just taking longer to shake off than usual. And like you, I've had a fair number of hardships in life. Losing my fiancé was the first. That sent me down a long hallway of clinical depression that I have been working on for 15 years. I would've been in a much better place than I am right now if that was it. Or if it was situations that could be easily handled, so to speak. As it is though, it was not. Eight years after losing my fiancé, I lost my mom rather suddenly. So I was effectively back in the same place I was 8 years prior. Then, after finally seeing some clearing, my dad passed the day after Christmas last year. Again, these are not things to be like "Woe is me" or anything. These are just explanations as to why it's been harder for me to overcome than it may be for others. I tend towards depression and bipolar anyway. These events just make it worse. I am working on all this though with medication and therapy. it's just going to take a while. The first year of losing someone is the hardest and it doesn't get easier each time you lose someone. I will have some good soon. I just need to get through this week and work on things. As with my original post. I was just commenting on how money and me don't get along well. We never have. Autistic people can have that problem. We don't tend to see the good or the bad of what we do financially and can act rather impulsively. I am aware of that and I hope to make progress with that. I am glad that you responded. Conversations like this can be very helpful in so many ways. Thanks for that. I hope you have an excellent weekend. |

My water heater went the other night. Leaked onto my carpet. We have fans, rags, and a dehumidifier sucking up the moisture. Grumble grumble. Because it happened close to the weekend I have wait. New water heater is getting installed Monday morning. Until then we’re doing the wet/dry rags truffle shuffle.
