A long time ago when I was staying in Florida for a brief spell, the place I was in had those little house lizards crawling along the walls. They freaked me out at first and I had the same thought: "There's no way I'm going to be able to sleep with these lizards running around the walls at all hours!"

Well, like a day later, I was just reclining on my bed and one of those lizards apparently lost their footing and plopped right down on my chest...and just scampered off me.

It felt just like a rubber toy and I was a little stunned in the moment, but also found it amusing and cute...and I had no worries about them for the rest of the stay.

The lizards also eat all the bugs (i.e. roaches!), so they are on your side.

Lizards eat the bugs, snakes eat the lizards, and hawks eat the snakes.

I lived in the Caribbean on and off during my youth (5 years was my longest stretch) and lizards of all sizes were a common everyday sight - including inside the homes. No one in my family were afraid of them. Well, except for the big komodo ones lol. Anyway, my siblings and I thought they were cute so we used to try to catch them. When we were successful we would let them hang from our ears as if they were earrings. We felt so bad when their tails would snap off. Poor things.

For eleven years, I lived in Germany, where I had a job and a regularly paid for the apartment. Eventually, I decided to go back to my native country, convinced that my situation would improve. Unfortunately, I was mistaken, and I have regretted my decision to this day. I am capable of returning to Germany, but the issue is that I am currently unemployed, relying on my father's assistance, and constantly relocating. I faced an identity crisis and stood in opposition to the tide of history, wrongly attributing blame to Germans for a matter they were justified in supporting. I should be ashamed of myself.

I use peanut butter as bait with great success. I catch and release so it's possible some of them come back for a free meal.

You’re running a delicatessen.

The traps are marketed as pre-baited or whatever but yeah smearing some peanut butter should bring ‘em in. Especially with super chunk!

I used to have a rat zapper which is basically a chamber they crawl into and get electrocuted.

Installing a water heater is way over my head. And because it's gas the city has to come out and inspect it. Make sure everything is up to code. They're scheduled to stop by this Wednesday. Apparently my old water heater was so plugged he couldn't get it to drain. It was quite the fluster cluck. He was soaked, as well as my carpet. I felt bad and gave him a new pair of socks. I hate wet socks. But it's done. New water heater ready to go.

Oh man…couldn’t get the old tank to drain?! That would be a heavy sob. How old was it?

Glad it’s done and you can move on. I suggested tankless because you don’t have to worry about a massive flood as you experienced along with Tony Soprano.

I do miss having instant hot water vs. on demand but the electric bill dropped a good chunk once we went tankless. I bet that first shower was good and hot.

Rats cost me about $1K in damages to my car so any rat I catch is dying a horrible death. Time to eat lunch and then pick up my repaired polyester raincoat!

That’s because Honda and many other car manufacturers switched to daggone soy-based plastics and wiring which =food for rodents. Absolute insanity. It’s a huge issue in Manhattan (no surprise)- my friend purchased a new car in Queens and the engine light came on during the ride back and it turned out to be rat damage. Dealer admitted it was a well known and common issue.

I’m still angry over those ridiculous gas can safety mechanisms which leak over everything if you try to fill up your mower but food in your engine bay? Far worse.

The end:

After I finally finished Married with Children, I had to watch the pilot again to remember how much it changed. It really became a cartoon.

Marcy and Steve talk about their first child. She doesn't want the boy to watch sports. Al: "I'm telling you, your son is gonna be a sissy." Of course she remains childless for another eleven years.

Episode ends with Al asking Peggy if she wants to go upstairs. The idea of having sex doesn't disgust him like it would later.

Asked where the juice is, Peggy says, "I didn't buy any. I didn't have time." Implying that she does SOMETHING. Even makes bad coffee for the men later, telling Marcy that you don't want your husband to become too comfortable or they will never want to take you out to eat. Later Peggy wouldn't even know how to use a coffee pot.

"That's not my ad, ma'am. That's the former owner's." I get the impression that Al owns the shoe store.

Marcy looks a lot more girly and housewify with her pink clothes and long hair.

Remember how Luanne was actually smart in the first episodes of King of the Hill and got much dumber later? She could fix cars and threatened grandpa about getting fresh with her again. What happened to Luanne in King of the Hill happened to Kelly. Almost every sentence coming out of her mouth became moronic later. In the first episode she's just normal.

Bud's change I remembered because creator Michael G. Moye talked about it in an interview I watched.

I'm not complaining. Just noting.

When I was about ten a large spider took up residence in my room. Every so often I'd see him wandering about. I don't think he got to be six inches, but a good three, maybe four. Never bothered me.

UM, no thanks. Y'all can keep your little critters. My house is my sanctuary. Not a mouse's or any other disgusting thing.

And they don’t even pay rent. You really have to keep up on it before they multiply.

Sister called earlier and made some job hunting suggestions and I've begun to follow those suggestions. We'll see how fruitful my search for jobs in Iowa is after I move up there.

YES!!!! And they eat you out of house and home while they're at it. As for multiplying, they're about as bad as rabbits.

I was going to hit Denny's for some AYCE pancakes but I see that IHOP has their own AYCE promo for a limited time. So do I go with IHOP or Denny's? Hmmmm
