Don’t they make you take it off in the TSA line anyway? :
You can get one at Costco!

So I got my car to this shop I found online with decent reviews. I dropped it off and the dude calls me back in less than an hour which is pretty good. Said it would cost $630 to patch/repair my exhaust leak(s)? Apparently I have several.

That seems crazy expensive just for a welding patch job. I’ll have to go to another place for a second opinion. Like if you’re actually replacing pipes then ok but jeez. Not happy.

I walked to Starbucks so enjoying a pumpkin spice cold brew.

It’s not the end of the world but I do wish I had brought it. It’s a pretty nice Goodfellow belt from Target. I like that brand.

The walk to Starbucks sounds nice but I’m imagining some leafy neighborhood in New York

I mean you can get a stainless corsa cat back exhaust for like 1,100 bucks. $650 seems pretty steep to just weld and patch if you ask me.

Haha so true!

When I went to pick up the car he said the back part was close to falling off so idk if he’s just trying to make me nervous or what. PA inspection guy said he couldn’t even find the leak but said I needed it fixed to pass. If the exhaust was near close to falling apart, I think the inspection tech would have recognized it.

The good news is the exhaust guy didn’t charge me a diagnostic fee. I assume he makes that back by charging $600 his shop scores 4.8/5 out of 117 reviews on Google. Many people say he is fair. So….perhaps it is what it is but she needs a lot of work. Car is 19 years old! He said it was leaking at the front, catalytic converter needed work around the flanges and then the rear part apparently about to break off? Amazed he didn’t say I needed new mufflers at this point. :rofl!

It’s the weekend so I’ll think it over. Tempted to get a second opinion but the first guy never called me back. If I drop in he’ll probably charge me a diagnostic fee and I’ll be in the hole.

Either way…my exhaust is about to be Frankenstein’d hard core!

It was over 5 miles round trip. I did make a few detours including a Jewish deli for lunch. According to my Apple Fitness app, I walked close to 8 miles which is like half a day at Disney World lol.

I was not in NY today. Downtown Scranton-Steamtown Mall if you want to be specific. Probably do it al again next week if I decided to go through with the exhaust work. Still seems awfully high to me. This dude better be a welding ninja.

Sounds nice. Did you happen to take any pics?

And I’m just about to land in Jacksonville. Probably touch down within a couple minutes.

Your layover is in FL?

Nah didn’t take any pics. Is there something you would like me to take a photo of? I already put up a few train pics that are on display at the museum in downtown Scranton.

I think that’s what he said and going up north to Virginia. Isn’t that where they filmed all those Wrong Turn movies?

Yes, my parents live in Brunswick. The closest airport is Jacksonville which is about 45 minutes away. We stopped at Longhorn on the way home and had a really good meal. Looks like we'll spend the weekend here in Brunswick and then start our little trip on Monday. Like I've said before, she really wants me to move out here and knowing I love the mountains, she's hoping that I might really like the mountains of Northern Georgia so that's part of the motivation for the trip. We'll be venturing out of state too as I said.

Do remember the pics you posted of the trains

Thinking about tomorrow's shift, planning to attempt a 9 mile run after work and a 24 mile run Sunday so hopefully I finish quickly. Just need to continue to improve!

Had some x-rays taken of my spine on Wednesday. Got a call from my doctor yesterday afternoon (on a Friday!), and he has ordered an MRI for a better understanding of what is going on; he found multiple fractures, several large. He also said that there are several discs that are severely compressed and/or damaged. I have been in a lot of pain for a very long time now; I just figured everyone that worked physically all of their lives felt like this.

Starbucks running that crappy deal today:

2 drinks for $10 or 4 for $20

How about BOGO or 50% off like the good ‘ol days?

Yeah, I keep wondering when they're going to have their next half-off day. I've been patiently waiting for you to let us know since you normally know first

Hmm, first bike
