Getting really tired of seeing freaking doctors. Saw a specialist on Wednesday, followed by a spinal injection on Friday. Today, the hand surgeon tells me that I will be laid up in a cast for a minimum of six months next year. At least three months on each hand, up past the wrist. And I have another appointment tomorrow afternoon. Just tired of it.

First working day of Standard Time and it's already dark at 4:40. Yikes.

Me, too. I had an MRI today, two Wegovy consultations, one this Thursday with the Endocrinologist face to face and next Monday through Zoom with the physician. I had two Endocrinology appointments over the last three months.

I have Nurse Practitioner appointments every four to 12 weeks, therapy every week to two weeks, numerous X Rays and MRI’s at other doctors every so often, Zoom appointments with the gastrointestinal doctor every six months.

Then there’s annual eye doctors appointments. I feel like I can rarely catch a break from needing some kind of medical attention.

I know I’m going to be 49 two months from next Thursday. But this is f*cking nuts!

Yup that's why they were handing out headlamps on Saturday at work. I already have one from running on Triviz. Watching Addams Family Values 4K and thinking about raking some leaves before pasta dinner with my sister later.

Then they email me saying I have to take the exam first before they can ship. They just love making money off those silly exams. So they’re holding my contacts hostage until I pay them the exam fee and complete it. Moreover, they hit my card.

So I canceled the order. Screw ‘em. I’ll just go to the eye doctor and get a real exam and a prescription that will be good for 3 years.

I'm so glad I had laser surgery with Ming Wang all those years ago. I don't have to worry about eye exams, eye doctors, or prescriptions. I'm sure as I age more I will need glasses, but for now I am solid as a rock. Best decision my family ever made.

I think if I had Red Sparrow with me in San Jose, I'd watch it tonight. I've only seen it one time which was at the theater. It is movie time though. Not sure what I'll end up going with yet

I had got used to the shorter hours of daylight this autumn/fall straight away, but when the clocks went back hour here the weekend before last it threw me off a bit (feeling run down didn't help). But today it's not been as bad (what helped was I'm improving from last week). You do get used to it getting dark earlier.

Took another crack at the leaves today and it was dark when I stopped but I think the front lawn is good. I'll take another shot at the leaves by the driveway on my next day off before the leaf vacuums come next Monday.

I empathize with both of you; I have my 67th medical appointment of the year this week with more yet to come.

Is that really Billy Zane? If so, that's impressive.

Working on being less sedentary and so I am hoping to really reduce the physical media collection or at at a minimum be more selective on what is added. Probably an oversaturated topic as it's already a collecting forum where movies get tied in somehow, but I really need to make strides in being healthier and getting out more, meeting more people, learning new things, etc. This hobby is way too time consuming and I feel like I could be doing so much more.

I agree with a lot of this and do see where you're coming from. But, at least for me, I'd rather be sedentary watching movies than I would be to going out, meeting more people, and learning new things. I learn plenty from listening to music and watching movies. I also have no desire, really, to meet more people. i have enough people in my life that I can barely handle. People are hard to get along with and very taxing on the brain. At least for me, anyway. Autism makes friendships and relationships very hard.

I am always stressing about them and worrying too much. I live in my own head far too much and don't wish to spend more time in it. I got home yesterday, made dinner, and sat down to watch Murder at 1600. Then I listened to The Bad Ends' The Power and The Glory. I didn't engage in last night's shenanigans. It was actually rather nice. That is what I much prefer. Is it nice to have friends over, relax, and have fun? Sure, but it has to be with people I am SUPER comfortable with. This whole society and social thing is vastly overrated to me.

REJECT SOCIETY. LIVE FOR YOURSELF.

I had my first dosage of the "new and improved" gene silencer medication Amvuttra delivered today:

Amvuttra first dose 06 November 2024 sm.jpg

This single dose, required every three months, costs $143,000! A nurse is coming to my home tomorrow morning to inject me with it; this is the first time that I have been able to have an in-home treatment. Convenience truly is costly.

Would love to hear a rep from the makers of that drug try and justify it's almost 150,000 dollar price tag. I go to get work done on my car i get an itemized list telling me what everything cost and why. I dont see why these drug makers should not be forced to do that same, i bet that medication cost at most to them a couple of bucks per dose.
