Having to go all the way to Coralville to get my Iowa driver's license was not fun.

May be getting a stoplight ticket. Yesterday I was on the way to work and both myself and the driver in front of me tried to stop at an intersection. Both of our cars failed to stop and we skidded though.

Debating if I should trade in my iPad Pro before the value goes down any further. I’ve owned it for 2 years and it’s worth about $400 which isn’t bad considering I paid $583 for it on sale in ‘22.

The one I just bought cost $1799 ($100 off on sale lol), plus AppleCare+, plus a protective case; it all came to a total cost of $2166.23.

Take your time.....my last marriage ended after 17 years (with kids involved) so it takes time to process and not make rash decisions. I will say I get along great with my ex, we were both just ready to move on...neither of us made the other happy any longer....the hard part was acknowledging it and being honest with each other. I agree with with Fors* said. I would also like to expound on things. This rough patch may be something that you can both get through. Especially if you still love each other. Leaving a relationship should be a last resort used when said relationship has crossed that line and reached a point of no return. I recently went through this myself. It was not a romantic relationship, but it had all the markings of one. And all the trappings of one. After 24 years of friendship with this person, the relationship ended. On my end, if you will. I finally hit that wall and reached my point where enough is enough. I gave them ample time to reach out like they usually do and I would patch it all up.

They didn't. Two months to the day later they called. I was at work and couldn't answer. They called twice and left no message. They didn't even send a text. I know they wanted something and wasn't looking to mend things. So, I blocked them and never looked back. But that was a last ditch resort. I never end things with people unless they have crossed that line. And it takes a lot to cross that line. I don't believe in cutting ties quickly when things get hard. I also don't believe in ruining things with people over things that to me aren't worth getting upset over.

Never understood the idea of letting silly, inconsequential stuff (in the grand schemes of things) ruin relationships. I'd rather have those relationships than I am to let them go over things that may not matter 20 years from now. I am easy to forgive, but I am hard to forget. I just don't do much until I hit my breaking point. But what I think or do may not be right for anyone else, as I am one of the most patient and easy going people you'll ever meet. It's done me well all these years. I haven't had too much drama as a result.

I wouldn't hesitate. DO IT!!! I traded in my old laptop to get a new one. And I'm glad I did. Instead of the new laptop costing me around $1,400, it only cost me around $700.

What are iPads primarily used for? I'm asking because I've been considering buying one to use to watch stuff on yt on the road (as opposed to watching my phone) but they're expensive and it seems kind of superfluous just for that purpose. I don't even travel that much. Someone talk me out of it by saying it's just a giant cell phone except it doesn't actually send or receive calls but does everything else a cell phone does better

My landlord sent out an email reminding tenants about noise restrictions. I'm not an inconsiderate jerk but I wonder if anyone complained to them about my TV being too loud. I only have a stereo system, not some crazy Atmos setup. The rare times I listen to music, I don't blast the stereo so loud that the walls shake and most of the time I use headphones. Sometimes it sucks to live in an apartment.

Do you have an iPhone? Sure, it does everything that can do but on a bigger scale. It does not replace a laptop but it’s nice to have if you don’t feel like lugging one around.

I would head out to the Apple Store to take one for a test drive. I tend to use mine a lot around the house for just browsing like I’m doing now chilling on the recliner.

Actually, iPads can be hooked up to printers to be the most ideal replacement and a very ideal replacement overall for a laptop computer, which is rather cumbersome.

Maybe for some but I still need a laptop for my work projects.

Not a fan of the keyboard for the iPad plus it’s like $350.

I still use a tower PC at home for stuff so that’s one use to cross off the list. I guess that leaves “entertainment purposes”, the larger screen being the main draw

Not quite the biggest. I went with the 12.9" 1 TB storage option instead of 2 TB. All of my advisers told me that 1 TB is plenty for a tablet.

The friend that I gave it to seems to be very happy with it.
