Just did some plowing. We were on track for 6" but only got 3" or so but it came with a nice layer of ice.

Came inside and had some Shin soup.

I am out of eggs. Crazy it's like $16 for 18 of 'em these days. Sam's Club is cheaper at roughly $8 for 18 but all sold out. I may end up checking stores tomorrow as they get deliveries rather quickly and have the real-time inventory.

Speaking of tomorrow...

It’s like I said, using ice melters and either a big snowblower or small bulldozer for the driveway and a small snowblower for the walkway is the only way to go for removal of all kinds of frozen precipitation.

It’s also like I said, scraping ice, mixed precipitation and sleet and shoveling snow are tied for one of the most toxic things for the human body and one of the worst forms of body abuse. Nobody should mutilate themselves, especially like that.

I don’t think anybody would like the following too much: being in a wheelchair, having a heart transplant, having a pacemaker, having prosthetic body parts, permanent physical therapy and, most of all, death at too young an age. This is all from heart attacks or trips, slips and falls, mostly from trips, slips and falls.

I don’t mean to sound condescending and crazy and I’m sorry if I come across that way.

I just want people I care about to be happy, healthy, prosperous and safe. My overprotective demeanor goes to warp speed when, in my eyes, people are or might be endangering themselves.

While I appreciate the advice, I do fine with a quad and plow, Tim. A snowblower is ok for small jobs but my driveway is super long and wide. It would take HOURS to clear using one. Moreover, a snowblower cannot handle large snowfalls. We had the big Nor'easter a few years back and it dropped over 2' of snow on us. No way the snowblower would have kept up. I had nearly 5' walls of plowed snow. It was nuts.

I would like to get a newer quad as mine does not have power steering. A side by side would be ideal.

A quad and plow sound like big machines. I can’t imagine shoveling any amount of snow that is six or more inches.

Even an inch to three inches is a bit much for me to shovel. A coating to an inch is all I can handle shoveling and even that is a bit of a challenge for me.

I have aches and pains in my arms, back, neck and shoulders in the form of fibromyalgia. Cold and especially frozen precipitation can and often do a number on me.

Yeah they're pretty heavy duty for the most part and 4X4. I love CanAm.

Have you always lived on Long Island? I love Massapequa and my mechanic is in Riverhead.

Yes, I’ve lived on Long Island since 1-14-1976, my date of birth. In chronological order, Albertson (three years), Levittown (11 years), Saint James (22 years), Nesconset (three years), Coram (four years) and Farmingdale (six years and current).

I live in Nassau County half a mile west of the Nassau/Suffolk county border.

That quad’s a beauty, by the way! Is there something like that for a walkway? That would be epic!

I want to start an appreciation thread for someone. Using the search function to see if one was already created. Don’t want duplicates.

Ha Victory, that’s nice of you but it’s not necessary. I already know how much you appreciate me

9:42pm and didn’t get enough sleep but that’s okay. I clock in in 18 minutes and I’ll probably spend most of the shift thinking about how I’ll spend my first day off tomorrow

Glad KC lost, even if it was Philly that beat them.

Glad to hear it. I can't stand the Chiefs. I mostly can't stand the romance between a chief and a charlatan, but it's enough to sour me on the Chiefs. Plus, they're starting to become the Yankees of footbabll. *

Did your shin soup come with any cartilage?

if having to use Prep H. after talks with you is appreciation, then good for you bud.

*bonus points for anyone getting that pop reference.

Even if there's a duplicate it's probably fine. I try to be casual over there, some guys seem to take it way too seriously.

Just finished a phone screening for a possible Sunday-Tuesday moonlighting job with flexible hours. The best part is based on what I heard I could probably even pick up shifts on the rare occasions my main job puts me on standby and sends me home instead of giving me a route.

That was a boring-arse Super Bowl. I had no stake in the game and don't care enough about the Chiefs to hate on them. But I would have preferred a more competitive (and fair) game, even a low-scoring defensive stand-off.
