I'm thinking about getting some dessert. I wanted to get some apple pie after my clam chowder andn fish&chips but they're out right now. They have carrot cake and cheesecake which I really like but I may think about going somewhere else.

Also, I did place one Target order yesterday to take advantage of their BOGO50O and while I'm happy with what I got, I already purchased both films. I'm pretty sure my dad got rid of my copies of The Revenant (only seen once in theater) and Atomic Blonde (blind buy)

I would send your father a bill!

Any Shake Shack fans?

They’re running a BOGO deal through tomorrow.

Not me. I can make a far better burger in my air fryer from any Meat Market and from any Uncle Giuseppe’s for several dollars less per burger.

Heh…it’s funny you brought up Uncle Giuseppe’s because I think i’ll be going there for the first time tomorrow! We’ll see how the weather is and all that jazz. I’m overdue for a Trader Joe’s run plus Shake Shake is in the area along with UG’s.

Do you have any recommendations? I read that it’s basically a Whole Foods but for Italians. The bakery items are supposed to be excellent.

At Uncle Giuseppe’s, half of the food is organic. The fresh foods, cold and hot, especially the pizza and other Italian foods are the best they offer.

I recommend only going to the Melville and Port Jefferson Station stores, as they have dining areas to eat meals in. The other Uncle Giuseppe’s stores will eventually be expanded or relocate so they’re the same size as these two stores, with a dining area and a pizzeria.

Thanks Tim. I actually won’t be on Long Island. I’m going to the Morris Plains location in NJ. Still a 70ish mile hike or so from my home in PA.

I also read that they discount the fresh stuff after 7:30 but I won’t be out that late. Just gonna do a dry run for the most part and see what I find. Maybe grab a slice. Also a sucker for pasta salad even tho I hate black olives.

After all…this is a Trader Joe’s mission for the most part.

One of the stores in New Jersey is the same size as the Melville and Port Jefferson Station stores with a dining area, hot foods bar and pizzeria. It may or may not be Morris Plains.

Ha, I got a kick out of that

I ended up going with the cinnamon pull-apart from Papa Johns. I love cinnamon bread type..stuff...like that. Back in the day, I used to get the cinnamon dessert pizza from Mountain Mikes and they would hook it up with lts of frosting and it was so good.

Here's how my week looks beginning tomorrow:

I have three trips to the hospital in St. Louis this week. Tomorrow is a routine follow-up with Neurology. It should be an easy appointment. I can expect to be hit everywhere with that little reflex hammer that they are so fond of using.

Thursday is my monoclonal antibody drug trial treatment and that means 5+ hours hooked to an IV along with assorted "to be announced" tests.

On Friday I have my second Radio Frequency Neuroablation done on my lower back. This is where my pain management doctors insert heated needles to burn the nerves at the L5/ S1 vertebrae in order to provide pain relief to my lower back. The benefits typically only last 6-12 months. It has been 10 months since I first had this done.

It was a painful procedure the first time. So much so that I was given three Fentanyl injections during it. I will have to stay with a friend for 24 hours afterwards. The recovery takes up to 2 weeks and the back pain actually increases for the first few days after the surgery.

Here's a 95 second video if anyone wants to see a brief demo:

^Looks like just another day at the spa. I had six of those needles driven into my spine 10 months ago.

Making this week with three hospital trips even more fun is the bitter cold snap and the 6-11 inches of snow expected starting tomorrow. For my Thursday drug trial treatment I have to be on the road by 6 AM, earlier if the roads are bad, and the temperature is expected be a numbing 2 degrees. It is 105 miles each way.

I do very poorly in extreme cold. I can barely sense my feet and lower legs when it is that cold thereby increasing my risk of falling. My friend that drives me to these appointments will probably have to push me about in a wheelchair.

Have a better week than me everyone and keep warm!

California is an expensive place to live but I'm glad it doesn't snow here. I had enough snow growing up in Minnesota.
