sfmarine, I was going to ask you a question about the background of the picture you posted towards the bottom of the previous page (of the battery covered in ice), but had a senior moment and realised I'd answered it myself (would have asked "are those evergreen trees in the background?").

Nice! It was always south of me but glad to hear it will be missing you as well. So tired of winter at this point.

Indeed they are. Had 4 large ones in the yard that unfortunately died and had to be cut down. Fairly common disease in the area.

Evergreen trees are susceptible to a fungal disease called Rhizosphaera Needle Cast. This disease can cause coniferous trees to lose their needles prematurely, turning them brown before they fall off.

Not sure I would call it the prettiest, but The Tail of the Dragon = the funnest! 300 curves for 11 miles going through NC & a bit of Tennessee.

That looks stunning but I was thinking of a road in a neighborhood with several houses lining the street. I did do a search but the link I found had streets in urban areas and while I certainly appreciate those, I was thinking of a street you'd find in the suburbs. I had a pretty nice bus ride down to Hollister. I know we've had a little rain here and there but I hadn't realized that it was so green. I was looking out the window, enjoying the scenery, when I thought about that.

I think I was on that road when I was like 10 years old. I remember enjoying it quite a bit and would love to do it again. But my wife and daughter get so car-sick... ugh

What’s the route number for that road? And, is it a state route for North Carolina and Tennessee or a US route?

Speaking of roads, while I was on a tour through Tenerife the bus took us through a rugged mountain pass with winding roads. On several occasions the driver had to back up to be able to make some turns and I kept picturing the scene in The Long, Long trailer where Desi backed up near a cliff and the back of the bus hung out over it. I was so nervous I wanted to get off and walk the rest of the way. Yikes. Beautiful scenery, though. They really shouldn't let buses use those roads. There's no room for two vehicles going in the opposite direction

Canada's best players showed up...US's didn't....Matthews didn't score a single goal the whole tournament, let alone the final...MacKinnon and McDavid had multiple goals in the tournament with McDavid and MacKinnon each scoring in the final (McDavid with game winner in OT). Nuff said.

Yes, our neighbors from the South are our business partners and our friends, period.
That's the way it is and always will be.

We wouldn't have it any other way, period.
That's how we advance in life, how we rise up together for a better world. Nuff said.
