I took a little break from this place, from my last post in this thread. Not entirely sure why, just took a step back. I don't want to rehash what I had mentioned, but I do want to point out (and this isn't aimed at anyone) but I have been trying to chase change. I have been job hunting for a long time, I have had plenty of screener calls, plenty of interviews, some of them have gone far and then it ends. So many times the position has been placed on hold or the 'scope has changed', which makes all of it void. Job hunting is a piece of shit, HR is a useless department just about anywhere, and the entire process is just so discouraging. With that said, I had a good role that made $75K+, and unfortunately, there's just not a ton of opportunities in Youngstown for that amount and for what I do. So that also doesn't help. But the point is, I have been trying to make change - unfortunately it's not in my control.

And I know the job is just part of my overall post that I talked about, but it's certainly a big component.

If anybody on here needs style advice for formal attire and shoes, I can help.

Of course, I would only steer people toward bespoke clothing and shoes in the Jermyn Street vicinity (the Saint James’s Borough) and the Savile Row vicinity (the Mayfair Borough) of London, England and other parts of London as well as other parts of England if they can afford it.

If not, I would steer people toward Joseph Abboud made to measure from Men’s Wearhouse (Mainline for shirts and Joe Line otherwise), made to measure shirts from Indochino and Allen Edmonds shoes.

Hey Tim- I was at Uncle Giuseppe's this week. Grabbed a pepperoni slice and their meatball parm hoagie. Picked up a chicken parm pot pie and chicken francese dish along with some sausage and peppers. All legit.

Melville or Port Jefferson Station? There’s one opening in Bohemia later this year or in 2026 and the Port Washington store is opening up in it’s new location in Greenvale in the Greenvale plaza in 2026.

Levittown (New York) in place of King Kullen is another location being considered for Uncle Giuseppe’s, as are Bellmore and Rockville Centre, both also in place of King Kullen.

I was at the location in Morris Plains. They definitely have the most on Long Island.

Lounging here in bed at the start of my weekend and yep, thinking about food. On my mind is whether I'm going to go for AYCE pancakes, AYCE boneless wings and fries, AYCE chicken tenders, riblets, shrimp and fries or AYCE tortilla chips. I Applebee's brought their AYCE promo on the riblets, shrimp and chicken tenders. I got that last week and I may get it again. Of course there is always AYCE pizza at Mountain Mike's from 11am to 2pm.
Why does life force me to make these difficult decisions?

That reminds me, I need to find a Buffalo Wild Wings near me for their unlimited boneless wings and fries deal - my daughter goes crazy for chicken nuggets/tenders and pretty sure that's one place she has yet to try (and she's tried chicken tenders from a lot of national and regional places all over the US). We did the Apple bee's AYCE deal a couple weeks ago, it wasn't good enough for her (she said it tasted too much like Walmart branded frozen chicken nuggets that were overcooked).

I got to Applebee's a little after they opened, or were supposed to open. I guess "their system was down" so I waited for awhile and eventually took off. I figured I would go do my ride first and then give them a call later. I was going to consider Red Robin as they have an endless fry deal. It might come with all the burgers but I'm not sure. They also have a really good mud pie for dessert.

Unfortunately, the Red Robin that I was going to go to is permanently closed so I called Applebee's back and they had just recently opened. They do have the AYCE boneless wings & fries on Mondays and then right now, they're running that promo for AYCE riblets, chicken tenders and shrimp with endless fries.

I might have to check out Buffalo Wild Wings for that deal one day. I don't think that I've been to one before but I'm pretty sure that I passed one on the way to Applebee's.

You mention all you can eat deals several times. Do you go to buffets at all? There is an Asian buffet here that I really enjoy and it's cheaper than a lot of the fast food places. It's $13.99 for lunch Monday-Saturday.

When people let me be a volunteer personal stylist to them, I can no longer steer them toward Indochino, as they have now priced themselves beyond their merit. But, I can still steer them toward the other brands and makers that I mentioned at 11:50AM Eastern Time this past Sunday, as long as they don’t price themselves out of their merit. Otherwise, no.

To be honest, I very rarely mention food as I hardly ever eat anything.

I don't stray too far from American food so I'm not one to search out any Asian buffets although I have been to one once or twice. I'm sure they had some other types of food as well. If I go for Asian food, I'll look for something without veggies. For example, when I get Panda, I get the orange chicken and teriyaki chicken.
I am a fan of Golden Corral although we don't have one in the Bay Area. The closest one is about 45 minutes away or so and I actually plan on hitting it next week as I should be up that way. I liked Hometown Buffet when it was around and I miss Fresh Choice and Sweet Tomatoes as well.

WHAT?! The box set shouldn't be anything over $350, if that. I've searched and that's the median price. And it's in stock. Whatever site you were looking at was trying to hose you. And they almost did. The new B-52's Vinyl box set coming out in June is only $179 and has more vinyls then the Beatles boxset. Boy, you dodged a big hose on that one.

I am glad someone spoke up and said it. I didn't want to be the lone dissenting voice, so I didn't outright say anything in my post. I am usually contrarian here without meaning to and didn't want to seem that way again in my post. I know what you are talking about. Sometimes the control you have to change isn't there. No matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to do it. Others think you're just being lazy and not enough drive or willpower. But that's not it. There are times when you cannot changes things no matter what you do. Or how much you try and work at it.

Sometimes, whole mountains can be moved easier than a boulder that's unwilling to move. You do your best and it just isn't enough. It's all we can ever do. The point isn't always the actual change you are seeking. But rather, it can be the fact that you get keep getting back up to try and try again to make THAT change. Just not giving up can be a change in of itself. I commend you for that. You are doing what a lot of other people don't. Not giving up. I know someone who gave up. Now they make excuses for why things are the way they are in their life. Making excuses for why things aren't done.

There is no shame in admitting that you've given up and need professional help (in my friend's case). Or whatever it is that you need. Don't give up. You can do this. And know that life is not ever and you are not seeing the worst. Trust me on that last one. I've seen enough in 25 years to know your road is bumpy, but still drivable.
