Anyone else love watching youtube cop videos with crazy car chases and bozos running from cops like they can actually get away? Funny how today's perps are short skinny dudes in their teens. Like, almost EVERY time lol. Every time you see a perp sprinting away trying to escape it's always a short skinny kid. I bet they cry for their mothers once they're behind bars. Pathetic.

We moved away from an area of North GA cuz it's a long stretch of straight highway and there was an increasing surge of robbery, theft, crime, etc. cuz the perps could execute the crime and then hop right on the highway and haul ass. We moved away from the area partially due to that, but I see videos from that area all the time and it is WILD. These jokers drive like maniacs without any regard for safety and yet the GA State Patrol always gets them.

They are known for being ultra aggressive, which I 100% appreciate!

They sound like the Belle Meade Police down here. Belle Meade is a small neighborhood in Nashville with their own police force. The Belle Meade Police act like rent a cops. If you so much as go over the speed limit by one mile only, they will throw the book at you. It's awful.

Yup, so many of the videos are from Georgia lol. It's so satisfying to watch some perp get caught after wreaking havoc on the roads trying to escape. The pit maneuvers almost always work but what municipalities should do is install automated spike strips that would rise up out of the ground from under a grate in the road, controlled by a cop by pushing a button from his squad car as they chase the perps, to stop these guys. You can't go anywhere with four busted tires. For this to work (and prevent other cars from being spiked) they would have to install a warning light about a mile back from the spikes to alert them to stop. Then all the cops have to worry about is chasing after the perps after they sprint away

Yep, there was one instance when I was living out that way where some perps did and crash and dash at a store at the outlet mall in the early morning. They made off with a sh*t ton of clothes and such and hopped right on the highway heading south. The cops were right on their tails and threw the spikes out at the exit I was living off of. Their tires blew and those jokers got out on foot and were headed towards my old crib. They ended up walking all the way into the small-at-the-time town center on foot and the cops caught them trying to offer someone like $100 for water or something stupid and the person called the cops. I might be misremembering some of the story but here's the article. (EDIT: I didn't misremember, my old man memory seems to be somewhat spot on! )

Much like the Watch Dogs 2 video game, they have barricades that are oh so fun to use.

4 teenagers from our local high school got reported for shiplifiting at a Target 2 days ago. They took off and drove close to 100 mph down a typical 2 lane road (one lane going each way) and didn't make the curve. Hit a retaining wall and 3 of them died. I take that road to the gym every day...so now there is a memorial there. Just sad.

Not trying to be rude, but never understood the notion to put a memorial on the side of the road as a constant reminder of where (on GA highways) someone was ejected from their vehicle at high rates of speed.

Yesterday's cardiac stress test went better than anyone expected. I turned in my best performance on the treadmill yet having improved my year ago results by 16%. My Vo2 Max result was 23.5 ml/kg/min. A normal result would have been 32.5-34.9. The threshold for the heart transplant list is 14 or less.

It is worth mentioning that my pacemaker was pacing my heart during part of the test, so while I want to take all of the credit for my big effort yesterday, I really can't. My ingrained stubbornness helped me, but so did the pacemaker.

The result of the stress test leaves me in an uneasy state of limbo where I have to wait until I get worse, but without dying, before I can get on the transplant list. My transplant doctor said he would see me next year unless something major happens before then. In the meantime I continue with my usual treatments that only slow, but do not stop, the progression of my disease.

Enjoying my one day off. Our company is curently assimilating a subsidiary of ours by moving it to here from Wisconsin. As a result my coworker and I have unfortunately assumed more burdens as we deal in the inventory of parts.

I've been thinking of quitting, honestly (the job isn't bad and we're actually getting another set of hands) as I just yearn to get out of Colorado. My mind has frequently been thinking back to North Platte, Nebraska and a work opportunity I got there in 2021 and I would like to move back there and settle. I miss the diner and they have a Fox theater there that shows great vintage movies and also doubles as a community playhouse. I'm hoping something good is coming up on the horizon soon as 2022-2025 has just been the absolute pits. I'm kinda worried that the small town vibe might go away though as Amazon is building a warehouse there.

Roadside memorials creep me out. The best memorials IMO are keepsakes. My parents are both deceased. I hang T shirts with a photo of each parent that my sisters had made when they passed away on the wall beside my bed. Each night before going to bed and in the morning I hug each shirt as if I were hugging them in person. I'd like to think they also watch over me
