Ms 45 looks really interesting. Not really into the rest of the slate or I already have them on other releases. I was kind of hoping for something different for Oct, but not sure what I was expecting...

Ms 45 will be a blind buy for me if I decide to go for it. I was hoping for Nightbreed and To Live & Die in L.A. I assume TMNT will drop for December.

Would be a blind buy for me as well. The main actress drew me into it right off the bat. Didn't realize she passed away very young (37)

Hoping for TMNT soon, but not sure what is happening there. Didn't they post something about just receiving the negatives/elements only recently?

Yeah that can get annoying but that’s why we’ve got Orbit & Diabolik. I’m really not loving the new artwork for Return of the Living Dead, but I’ll probably still get it.

I think I’m gonna hold off on the Sleepaway Camp sequels for now. They’re both interpositives, Shout ditched the Blu-ray and no reversible artwork. She’s bare bones and I can wait for it to go on sale vs. paying $8 more per film for the slip(s).

There are a ton of extras on part 2 (although they may just be port overs from previous releases). The picture itself was very good but I never watched any of the blu-rays. I also like both of the slipcovers.

Thanks. I’ll have to check out the special features and compare them to past releases. The slips are nice but I was hoping for some other artwork underneath vs. the same image. As iconic as they are.

One of the slipcovers uses the same image but you can simply put the case inside the other slipcover with the new art.

What’s the deal with Crocs all of a sudden? They were popular like 10-15 years ago with plenty of knockoff brands, but the allure faded. They seemed to be associated with lazy people and those in the health care field.

Now I see them everywhere and they are extremely popular at Disney World with their own themed Crocs.

I get it..they’re comfortable for walking, but what am I missing here?

Crocs are clearly back now. They’ve partnered with Krispy Kreme for a limited edition Croc that will set you back $90. I hope you get a dozen donuts with that purchase.

I'd rather eat the Crocs than their donuts.

What they should’ve done was make a Croc out of a donut! A donut-shaped croc! Just don’t wear it!

Default Boutique label announcements this week

Even though I've been disappointed by Arrow's announcements on the whole this year (the Dollars trilogy being some of the very few exceptions), I have said their announcements are among the monthly cycle of regular announcements by boutique labels I'm still interested in. This ritual I have of avoiding leaked titles, I'm being to ask "why bother?". Someone posted along the lines of "save up" regarding Arrow's October lineup. I would have asked "from the perspective of who? 4K-only customers? Blu-ray-only customers? Or a bit of both?".

I should not have expected to see The House with Laughing Windows to be among the October line-up. It would have been ideal for October based on what I've read about it (Hysteria Lives' review).

As for the fifties version of Invaders from Mars, when I am able to, am going to get the standard edition of Ignite Films' release.

Yes, I would rather any boutique label get the release of a film or a series of films done right, rather than rush it/them out. It can be slightly annoying when you feel that the release could happen anytime (there was a recent Facebook post on Arrow Video's Facebook page that Laughing Windows is being shown at a film festival soon).

When you get a picture in your mind of some films etc. that would be right up Arrow's street and what gets announced doesn't match that picture, it's bound to be disappointment. But you still have that glimmer of hope.

This week I've been more interested in the announcements from Eureka (The Ambulance), Hammer (The Man in Black) and Powerhouse Films (Plot of Fear).

Only one more month's set of full announcements left for Arrow this year (November, as December can be quieter).

Have Shout's Blu-ray releases of the first three Sleepaway Camp films. Would have jumped at buying their new releases of the second and third films if they had been combo packs. I'm starting to doubt myself but I don't think I double-dipped and purchased 88 Films' UK Blu-rays.

Two Shout titles I watched for the first time last year, that are among my favourites are Sorority House Massacre and When a Stranger Calls Back (watched the longer version of the former, and with the latter, despite not being convinced about the final showdown, the film as a whole made me like the original more).

Ignite really did an incredible job with Invaders from Mars. We sadly lost Jimmy Hunt the other day but a great movie, nonetheless. Ignite only has a few titles under their belt, but they know what they are doing

I didn't realize they were a big thing again. My wife does love wearing them on her days off, shopping and when she gets her nails done, etc. She is a pharmacist but doesn't wear them to work.

You won't find me wearing them though. I leave the house ready for an apocalypse. If I can't run in my footwear, forget it

I'm about to finally place an Amazon order and I just swapped out the film Trap for the Maverick (Mel Gibson film) soundtrack. The swap would save me about $6 and the order would be just over $35 so I'd still qualify for free shipping. The thing is, I know I wouldn't listen to the soundtrack all that often. Back in the day, it wouldn't have mattered. There's two songs that would get good rotation and that would have been enough for me. The song that I really want is Vince Gill's cover of Ophelia by The Band. It's very hard to find that cover anywhere. If you want to buy it on iTunes, you have to purchase the whole album.
Anyway, that's on my mind right now.

I mentioned in my post that I took out M. Knight’s Trap and added the Maverick Soundtrack. As it turns out, I placed the order and left both of those for later. I ordered Brooklyn’s Finest, Edge Of Darkness, Dumb & Dumber and Serendipity. The first three are upgrades from DVD and Serendipity is to replace my possibly missing Blu Ray. Serendipity is one of my favorite movies. I actually added a 4K Criterion for a Hungarian member to help me spend less and get the free shipping but I still ended up hitting $35 on the movies for myself.

Fortunately, I found a good mechanic who does good work and doesn't charge an arm and a leg. My truck needs new brakes and rotors (which are warped), and also needs oil, transmission service, and bleed/replace the brake fluid. Normally I'd just knock that out, but his cost came in lower than what I would have expected for a full-size pick-up. In 2025. So I'll happily float the $ while I sit here and enjoy some coffee while I work . He's a cool and level-headed guy, too. And they're a short stop to my favorite Chicago/New York pizza joint, so I'll take the wife out to dinner after we pick up my rig. Gotta support the local businesses!

Rig? The only thing I know that's called a rig is an 18-wheeler truck. I'm sure you don't have that. You don't seem like the 10-4 good buddy type. I wouldn't think you'd even know how to get in one. LOL.

Um, YEAH!!! Madonna! OH, and Michael Jackson and Prince. In fact, I would say Phil Collins had as much influence on 80's pop music as a weatherman has on the weather.

Don't waste your breath. He likes country music. What the hell does he know. He probably sleeps with his cousin.
