They are digging out the foundation at my apt building to waterproof it. They did a corner next to the parking area last year, so I parked in my normal spot and went on about my business. You already know what's coming, don't you?
They ended up digging that area anyway. My car was far enough away it should have been good. Noone knocked and said hey can you move your car? No call from the apt owners who have my car on file for the permit to park. The guy said he had trouble with the controls. He said he already sent pictures and contacted apt management. I called my own insurance and started a claim. I read where best case scenario is $500. Worse case $10,000. I just got this car in June of 2024. Sigh. I am not mad, angry, or ready to kill anyone. I am just tired. Anyway, here is what they did with the bucket of the backhoe. [Show spoiler]

Decided to take a look at some cars online just to see where the market is these days.
My car (crushed by tree-likely totaled) is my only AWD car and it was a tank in the snow. I prefer sedans but SUVs seem to be the way to go these days. I thought that it would be fun to get the newer version of my car (upgrade) on the used market as they no longer make them. The problem is they killed the AWD option unless you went for the more expensive Hybrid drivetrain. I found a hybrid model with a really nice espresso ![]() interior (i'm tired of black) ![]() but it has high miles and is not sold by a dealer. I found a FWD version (2 years older) from a dealer with the older body style for about the same price but with only 50k on the odometer. |

The same applies to boots and shoes, especially dressy ones. That’s one of the reasons why my Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenues and Park Avenues are black, my Florsheim Rucci plain cap toe derby’s dark brown and my New Balances navy! ![]() |

I actually prefer lighter, more natural colors for most of my shoes. Especially for my dressier shoes. Though, I am not above a good navy shoe. My DRESS shoes have to be either black, dark brown, or a darker, richer tone of navy. No army for me.

I am still wondering what has become of civiclx. I hope that his absence is due to him having too much fun somewhere to have time to talk to us.

Having an internal battle today. I have something that has needed to occur in my life developing right at my fingertips; the question is, do I have the guts to grab the opportunity?? No easy choices here. It could mean a complete and total overhaul of everything.

Legit wondering HTF I woke up with "Knights in White Stain" in my head at 5:10 AM this morning. I haven't heard the song in ages, I hate it and I don't listen to music while I sleep.

I know its not the News part of Fox but still after the buyout it seems weird for Disney to own Fox and ABC. I plan to get the Sound of Music and might stop getting Disney stuff after that but I am getting more picky with what I buy these days.

I felt that way for a while and was holding to my guns about it. The more I thought about it though, the more I realized how counterproductive and somewhat dumb it was. if I were to stop doing business with anyone that did bad things or things that I didn't agree with, there wouldn't be anywhere left to shop. Or anyone left to deal with. It's hard to really put that in motion. I understand that you can choose to only not do business with certain companies/people. But then I wondered why certain people/companies get a free pass and others don't. If it's bad for one company then it should be bad for other companies as well, for example.
Plus, I was really only hurting myself by depriving myself of things that I love and hold dear. That would mean I would have to stop watching certain movies because of an actor. Or actress. Even a director. Or I would have to stop listening to certain artists because I don't like what they stand for. Or some of the things they have done that "may" be considered bad. That got me to thinking about my friendships and that sort of opened up my eyes. I have friends, best friends even, that I don't agree with or see eye to eye on. Like certain issues or politics, for example. And I'm sure they would feel the same way about me. Plus I have done horrible things in my life that I'm not proud of. Who am I to judge? And who says we all have to get along and agree on everything? In the end, I realized that it was better to accept people for who they are and all the flaws that come with them. That's not to say I agree with that or condone it. It just means that I am not going to pass judgement. I wouldn't want anyone to judge me. Nor am I going to be so rigid that I cannot be willing to bend or change my viewpoint ever. Doing that only stifles our growth as human beings. This is not to judge anyone if they choose to do the opposite. Not at all. You do you. Whatever cranks your Honda. I'm just voicing my own perspective on this. |
